Incident: Simple Burglary/Felony Theft

Simple Burglary/Felony Theft in the 16200 block of Denham Rd. On 6-2-2007 at approximately 4:10am, Cpl. E. Fagot was dispatched to the prior listed location in reference to a suspicious vehicle parked next to Demco's Denham Rd. Substation. The Deputy observed a Green in color Toyota pickup truck parked in the driveway next to the Substation with assorted tools in the bed. The Deputy observed signs along the fence line where someone had crossed over into the Substations yard. During the course of the Deputy's investigation, the Deputy observed a W/M subject return to the truck placing a bag into the bed of the truck containing a long metal object protruding from the bag. The Deputy stopped the vehicle and identified the driver as Jason Smith 35-year-old W/M. Smith had a pipe wrench channel lock pliers and assorted tools on their person. A representative from Demco identified the long metal object placed in the bed of the truck as a Transmission Switch removed from the premises of Demco valued at $ 1,800.00 dollars. Smith was processed and booked into the parish prison for the prior listed charges. Cpl. E. Fagot Jr. and Dy. P. Freeman investigated this incident under file # 07-36138.

Incident: Armed Robbery

Armed Robbery at 8918 GSRI Rd. On 6-2-2007 at approximately 10:05pm, Deputies responded to the prior listed location in reference to the robbery of an individual. Dy. R. Piatkiewicz learned during the course of this investigation that the victims were returning home when the victims observed five B/M's wearing black shirts and jeans walking on the street. The victims pulled into the parking lot and were exiting their vehicle when a B/M appeared from behind a wooden fence and produced a handgun demanding the victim's money. The B/M described as average height and weight wearing a black shirt and jeans with a black bandana covering their face pointed the weapon at the victim taking the victims wallet. The B/M fled the area in an unknown direction. No injuries were reported. The wallet contained the victim's identification and bankcard no money was taken. It is uncertain whether the five B/M's observed by the victims prior to the robbery were involved in this robbery. Dy. R. Piatkiewicz is investigating this incident under file # 07-36324. Incident: Attempt First Degree Murder/Attempt Armed Robbery

Attempt First Degree Murder/Attempted Armed Robbery at the intersection of Gen. Jackson and Pascagoula. On 6-1-2007 at approximately 10:45pm uniform patrol Deputies from Burbank and Kleinpeter Substations responded to 2509 Gardere Lane Suite A parking lot of Gardere Meat Market in reference to a caller advising they had been shot. Responding Deputies located the victim near the bank of pay phones located on the west side of the market. The victim had three gunshot wounds to the lower torso and lower leg area. The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment of non- life threatening injuries. Deputies along with Detectives focused their attention to the intersection of Gen. Jackson and Pascagoula. Detectives were advised the victim was traveling west on Gen. Jackson returning to the victim's residence after a trip to the store to purchase beer. Two B/M subjects near the corner of Gen. Jackson and Pascagoula Street approached the victim. The B/M's demanded the victim's beer and money after producing a handgun. The victim attempted to ward off the robbers with a screwdriver; the B/M's fired several shots at the victim before fleeing the area on foot. The B/M's were wearing white T-shirts and long dark colored shorts. No further description is available at this time. Detectives Morris and Lewis are requesting the public's assistance in identifying the persons responsible for this incident. Incident: Armed Robbery

The East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office is currently investigating an armed robbery that occurred at the St. Jean Apartments located on S. Harrells Ferry Road. The suspects were described as three black males, 18-24 years of age. Two were dark skinned with dread locks and they were occupying a black Jeep Grand Cherokee with gold trim, unknown license plate. Anybody with information regarding this incident should contact the Sheriff's Office at 389-5000.

Deputies are investigating an Attempt First Degree Murder that occurred at the corner of Chalmette Ave. and Orleans Dr. The victims were in their vehicle stopped at the corner when a red Jeep Cherokee approached them from behind. A passenger of the Jeep leaned out of the window and fired several shots striking the victims vehicle three times. The victims fled the area and reported the incident. The person responsible for shooting at the victim was described as a black male. Persons with information regarding this incident are asked to call 389-5000.

Incident: Business Burglary

Investigator: Uniform Patrol Lt. S. Young and Sgt. J. Konopka

On 5/29/2007 at approximately 11:30pm, deputies responded to a burglar alarm at 20013 Highland Rd., the location of Todd Electric Co. Upon arrival, deputies were advised by an employee that a white male had been observed committing the burglary and had subsequently fled the area on foot. Deputies who had responded observed an individual who matched the suspects description walking north in the 20200 block of Highland Rd. Deputies contacted the individual and identified him as David Trainor, W/M, 45yoa. Through investigation it was determined that Mr. Trainor was responsible for the burglary. It was later determined that Mr. Trainor had parked a vehicle that was reported as stolen through the BRCPD at the McDonalds next door to Todd Electric Co. Mr. Trainor was subsequently charged with Simple Burglary, Theft, 2cts Illegal Possession of Stolen Things, Simple Criminal Damage to Property, and Illegal Carrying of Weapons.

Incident: Aggravated Second Degree Battery

Aggravated Second Degree Battery at 1245 E. Flonacher parking lot of Stevenson's Grocery. On 5-29-2007 at approximately 7:23pm, Deputies responded to the prior listed business parking lot in reference to an assault with a handgun. Deputy A. Slaughter during the initial investigation of this incident learned that the victim was sitting near a wooden spool located on the property near the intersection of Ligon and Flonacher Rd. A Burgundy vehicle was observed passing the area several times, during the last sighting of the vehicle two B/M subjects observed exiting the vehicle approached the victim and began striking the victim with their fist and a handgun. During the course of the attack, the weapon discharged, the B/M's continued their attack fleeing the area before Deputies arrival. The round fired from the handgun did not strike the victim. The victim was transported to a local hospital where the victim was treated for wounds suffered during the attack. The victim was listed in stable condition. Detectives along with uniform patrol Deputies identified the attackers as Alvester Singleton 26-year-old B/M and his brother Royneal Singleton 22 year old B/M. Detectives Lewis and Ruiz shall draft an Affidavit Warrant of arrest for the arrest of Alvester and Royneal Singleton. Deputy A. Slaughter along with Detectives Morris, Ruiz and Lewis investigated this incident under file # 07-35296. Incident: Attempt Second Degree Murder/Poss. of Stolen Firearm

Attempt Second Degree Murder/Possession of Stolen Firearm in the 6000 block of Pontotoc. On 5-29, 2007 at approximately 2:03pm Deputy D. Luckett was dispatched to the prior listed location in reference to shots being fired in the area. During the course of the Deputy's investigation, several spent rounds from a semi-auto handgun were recovered from the street and yard of a residence. Witnesses advised the Deputy that a family dispute between a mother and her two sons escalated to the point the two sons were engaged in a fistic encounter. The subjects were separated when the accused identified as Cody Flood a 19-year-old B/M retrieved a handgun from the residence and fired nine shots at his brother. The brother fled the scene; no injuries were reported in this incident. Deputy Luckett also noted the semi-auto used in this offense was reported as being stolen. The accused was processed and transported to the parish prison and booked accordingly. Deputy D. Luckett investigated this incident under file # 07-35223.

Incident: Armed Robbery 2cts.

Armed Robbery at 14455AA Wax Rd. location of Smoothie King. On 5-28-2007 at approximately 4:08pm, Deputies responded to the prior listed location in reference to an armed robbery at the store. Deputies were advised that an off-duty Deputy observed a W/M enter the store wearing some type of mask armed with a black assault rifle. The W/M proceeded to the cash register and demanded the money from the clerk, after taking the money from the register, the W/M demanded money from the remaining workers and customer. The W/M took $ 35.00 in cash from the customer before fleeing the store. The W/M proceeded around the side of the building where another W/M was waiting in a Silver Honda Civic. The Honda sped off with the off-duty Deputy following at a distance. Uniform patrol Deputies from Central and Scotlandville Substation responded and pursued the vehicle. The W/M's exited the vehicle in the 18000 block of Old Wax Rd. Uniform patrol Deputies with assistance from off-duty Armed Robbery and Traffic Division Deputies apprehended the suspects after a brief foot pursuit. No injuries were reported during the course of this incident. Deputies recovered the suspected money from the store along with the weapon used in the robbery. Sgt. M. Davis completed the investigation by booking Logan Edwards 19 year old W/M into the parish prison for 2cts. Armed Robbery. The driver of the vehicle identified as a 16-year-old W/M juvenile was booked into the juvenile detention center for 2cts. Armed Robbery. Sgt. Armed Robbery at 14506 Scenic Hwy. location of the Scenic Hwy. Motel. On 5-28-2007 at approximately 11:15pm, Deputies from Scotlandville and Central Substations responded to the prior listed business in reference to the robbery of an individual. The victim while staying at the motel met an unknown B/F, the victim and the female were at the motel talking before the female left the victim. A short while later the female returned and knocked on the victim's door. The victim opened the door and was assaulted by person or persons unknown. The victim pants were taken containing approximately $ 40.00 dollars in cash. The victim received minor injuries during the robbery. No description is available at this time. Dy. P.
