Incident: Simple Robbery

Detectives are investigating a simple robbery that occurred in the 8400 block of Governor Drive. The victim had returned to his vehicle after delivering a pizza when he was robbed. A black male approached the victim and demanded his money. After the robbery the suspect fled the area. The suspect was wearing a white shirt with dark colored pants. The suspects face was concealed by a dark colored ski mask. Persons with information regarding this investigation are asked to call 389-5000.

Incident: Auto Theft Investigation

On 04/24/2007, Sgt.Billy Welborn and Lt.Brent Callender began an investigation on the possible recovery of a vehicle that was stolen from 12775 Deerpath Dr., B.R.La. 70815. The vehicle was reported stolen to the Baton Rouge City Police under file number 07-39437.

Detective's received information that Gary Pierce Vaughn, w/m, d.o.b. 12/04/1967 might have information concerning the whereabouts of the stolen vehicle. Vaughn, who was incarcerated at the parish prison, was interviewed by detectives. Information obtained during the interview led detectives to the vehicle and an additional charges of L.R.S. 14:69 Illegal Possession Of Stolen Things for Gary Pierce Vaughn.

The vehicle was recovered by Cpl.Lann Wolf and returned to the owner.

Incident: Attempt First Degree Murder, Armed robbery

Detectives are investigating an attempt first degree murder and armed robbery that occurred at the BREC Park located at 17000 Hamilton Dr. The victims were in the park when they were approached by three black males. One of the black male was armed with a handgun and robbed the victims. After the robbery, the victims began to run away causing the suspect to fire the handgun at them. The victims were not injured and reported the incident to authorities. Persons with information regarding this investigation are asked to call 389-5000.

Detectives are investigating a burglary that occurred at 4150 Jeffery Dr., the location of Automated Filing Systems. At approximately 9:50pm an unknown person or persons forced entry into the business and committed the burglary. The responsible person(s) fled the area prior to the arrival of responding deputies. On 4-13-2007 at approx. 2200hrs, three black males identified as, Michael William Carroll, b/m, DOB: 12-18-1980, 16441 S. Harrels Ferry Rd., Apt.# 4716, Baton Rouge, La., Terrance Martin, b/m, DOB: 3-12-1989, 16441 S. Harrels Ferry Rd., Apt# 5604, Baton Rouge, La., and one Eric Byron Knight, b/m, DOB: 1-27-1982, while armed with a handgun approached two adult males in the parking lot of St. Jean Apartments, 16441 South Harrels Ferry Rd., Baton Rouge, La. and demanded their monies. The two males did not have their wallets with them, therefore, was escorted to their apartment by the three assailants. Once inside the apartment the assailants confronted a third victim, an adult female. All three subjects were robbed of their monies.

On 4-20-2007 at approx. 1300hrs, Det. Nathan Crawford, of the East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriffs Office, Armed Robbery and Burglary Division, arrested Terrance Martin, and Michael Carroll, charging them both with, (3)cts, Armed Robbery, Aggravated Burglary, and Aggravated Kidnapping. Both subjects were transported to the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison where they were booked accordingly.
