Attempt Armed Robbery at 4520 S. Sherwood Forest location of Chase Bank. The victim was approached by two b/m subjects driving a silver Honda Accord with dark tinted windows and no license plate. The b/m's demanded the victims money. Uniform patrol deputies arrived at the scene and observed the incident. The subjects fled the scene in the silver accord. Dy's pursued the vehicle to the College Dr. Corporate Blvd. area. The vehicle was last seen in this area. No money was taken, the victim was unharmed. The complainant observed that the pit bull had been shot in the leg. A black four door vehicle was seen leaving the area. Burglary at 11440 Perkins Rd. location of Natalie Convenience Store. On 6-17-2006 at approximately 4:21 am, Dy's responded to an alarm at the store. Dy's observed a section of glass to the right of the door had been shattered. The ATM located within the store had been taken. Dy's are looking for a blue, full size, Ford van bearing license number V816045. The van is occupied by two b/m subjects, the passenger was wearing a black t-shirt, jeans and white tennis shoes. The driver was wearing a gray sweatshirt, blue jeans and white tennis shoes. UPDATE: Deputies recovered the blue ford van bearing la. license plate V816045 on Saturday June 18,2006. The van was recovered at the foot of the old bridge south of Airline Hwy. east bound.

The driver engaged in small talk and produced a black handgun demanding the victims money. No money was taken, the subjects fled the area. One subject was described as having low cut hair, the second subject, light complexion, wearing a baseball cap. The b/m, approximately 6'1" to 6'2" inches tall asked the victim for their money. During a struggle, the victim received a minor wound to the leg. On 6-16-2006 at approximately 10:26 pm an unidentified subject wearing a red and black motorcycle helmet, black leather jacket, black gloves, black jeans and a black backpack attempted to break into the stores pharmacy by breaking out the glass to the pharmacy door. The subject did not make entry into the pharmacy. The subject fled the area on a red and black motorcycle. Person or persons kicked in the doors to Owens Fabricators and got away with copper wiring, computer equipment, stainless steel plates and assorted tools. The burglary occurred between Sunday June 11, 2006 and Friday June 16, 2006. The building had just recently been sold and was vacant at the time of the burglary. On June 15, 2006, "Financial Crimes" Division detectives Cpl. Brian Blache and Detective Michelle Thompson arrested Sherman Young (B/M, DOB 01/10/81) at his residence pursuant to 2 Affidavit Arrest Warrants for Theft ($2,070.75), Forgery and Bank Fraud. Mr. Young negotiated multiple stolen checks that were drawn on a closed account at different local Baton Rouge banks. As a result of this fraudulent activity, the local Baton Rouge banks incurred a total loss of $2,070.75. Subsequent to Mr. Young's arrest, it was learned that he had 3 outstanding warrants through the District Attorney's Office for "Issuing Worthless Checks" to a local business for a total amount of $170.65.

On Thursday, June 15, 2006, the EBRSO Narcotics Division concluded an investigation involving the distribution of cocaine within East Baton Rouge Parish. The investigation concluded when Narcotics Detectives with the assistance of the EBRSO SWAT team executed a duly authorized search warrant at a residence located on Mission Drive. A search of the residence yielded approximately 330 grams of cocaine, 2.7 pounds of marijuana, and $3,130.00 of U.S. Currency. This seizure resulted in the arrest of the following subjects:

Joseph London (B/M DOB 09/09/1974) was charged with Possession with intent to distribute in excess of 200 grams of cocaine, Possession with intent to distribute Marijuana, and Manufacture of crack cocaine.

Chiquita London (B/F DOB 09/09/1980) was charged with Possession with intent to distribute in excess of 200 grams of cocaine and Possession with intent to distribute Marijuana.

The above listed subjects were subsequently booked into EBR Parish Prison accordingly.

At 07:15pm, the victim was knocking on the door of 4585 Southpark Drive. A red pick-up truck stopped in front of the residence and the passenger exited the vehicle. The passenger then produced a handgun and started shooting at the victim. The suspect then returned to the pick-up truck and left the area. The vehicle is described as a small red pick-up truck, with large stripes across the hood and cab. The vehicle was occupied by two B/M suspects. At approximately 07:50pm this date, an armed robbery occurred at 10606 North Mall Drive, the parking lot of the Wal-Mart store. As the victim of the robbery exited her vehicle, she was approached by two B/M subjects, who were occupying a brown Plymouth Voyager. The passenger exited the Voyager and demanded the victim's purse. As this was done the suspect pointed a handgun at the victim. After receiving the purse, the suspect re-entered the van and left the area. The individuals responsible for committing the robbery are described as follows; black male, 20 to 25yoa, bushy hair, wearing a white tank top and blue jeans. The driver of the van is described as follows; black male, 20 to 25yoa, twist in his hair, wearing a white t-shirt. Persons with information regarding this investigation are asked to call 389-5000.

The driver of the vehicle has been identified and placed under arrest. Jonathan Lanaute, B/M, DOB 7/14/84 was placed under arrest at 12:15am on 6/15/2006. Mr. Lanaute was charged with Accessory After The Fact to Armed Robbery and placed at EBR Parish Prison.

Sgt. Roger Corcoran of the Armed Robbery and Burglary Division investigated two burglaries which occurred at the same residence, 5012 Universal Dr., Greenwell Springs, La. on two separate dates, one on June 5th and one on June 8th. No items were taken during the entry of the 5th and video equipment was taken at the time of entry on the 8th. Investigation by Sgt. Corcoran resulted in the arrests of Corey Leblanc, white male DOB: 2/21/87, no known address, and Krystal Tilley, white female, DOB: 12/27/88 of 10224 Magnolia Rd., Denham Springs, La. Both were booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison with Unauthorized Entry of an Inhabited Dwelling, Simple Criminal Damage to Property, Simple Burglary of an Inhabited Dwelling and Theft.

On Sunday, 6/11/06, Sgt. Roger Corcoran of the Sheriff's Office Armed Robbery and Burglary Division (A.R.A.B.) and Crime Scene Technician, James Freeman, responded to alarms coming from Melrose Elementary, 1348 Valcour Dr. Upon arrival, Sgt. Corcoran observed three (3) youthful black males running from the campus, one of whom was carrying a portable stereo system taken from one of the classrooms. Dy. Freeman apprehended two of the individuals one block from the school. The third suspect continued fleeing on foot into the Melrose subdivision.

The two individuals apprehended were identified as Keith Wilson, black male, DOB: 2/25/89 of 5654 Asphodel Dr. and a sixteen year old juvenile. Wilson was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison charged with Simple Burglary, Theft and Contributing to the Delinquency of a Juvenile. The juvenile was referred to Family Court on Simple Burglary and Theft.

Through continued investigation by Corcoran and Freeman, the third suspect was identified as Maurice Russ, black male, DOB: 5/22/89 of 5629 N. Afton Pkwy. He was subsequently apprehended and also booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison charged with Simple Burglary, Theft and Contributing to the Delinquency of a Juvenile. The portable stereo system was also recovered.

On 6/13/06, at approximately 0229 hrs., Sheriff's deputies were dispatched to Ricky Smith Audio, 11210 Airline Hwy., in reference to alarms coming from the business. Upon arrival, Cpl. L. Cavalier of the General Investigations Section of the Detective Bureau and Sgt. S. Young of the Sheriff's Kleinpeter Substation engaged in foot pursuit of one of the suspects and subsequently apprehended him a short distance from the business. Cavalier and Young were immediately assisted by members of the Armed Robbery and Burglary Division and other detectives of the Detective Bureau. The individual apprehended was identified as Josheau Stephen Franklin, black male, DOB: 5/19/87 of 10846 Leton Ave., Baton Rouge. Stolen Property from the business was recovered at the scene.

Further investigation by A.R.A.B. detectives Lt. David Norton, Sgt. Joey Caillouet and Sgt. Billy Welborn resulted in the subsequent arrest of Shon Kaleialoha McLeod, black male, DOB: 2/17/89 of 4747 South Park Drive, apt. #113. Both individuals were booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison charged with Simple Burglary and Felony Theft.

As a result of the photographs aired on local television stations of the persons responsible for the first degree robbery of the Jiffy Mart, 12924 Coursey Blvd., on 5/25/2006, follow-up investigation conducted by Cpl. Kent Landacre of the Sheriff's Office Armed Robbery and Burglary Division (A.R.A.B.)led to the identification of one of the suspects, identified as Aaron Dewayne Hickman, black male, DOB: 2/23/87 of 6227 Flag St., Baton Rouge. Hickman was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on 6/08/06 in accordance with a warrant issued for his arrest for First Degree Robbery.

On June 13, 2006, between the hours of 4pm and 9pm, The East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office conducted criminal patrols of the Gardere Area resulting in several arrests for both criminal and traffic offenses.

The following suspects were arrested for the following offenses:

Deputies also seized 63.8 grams of Marijuana with a street value of $319.00 and 1 Xanax Pill with a street value of $20.00.

Deputies with the East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office Scat Team, Narcotics Division, ARAB Division, Financial Crimes Division, as well as Deputies from the Burbank Substation participated in this action.

On 6-12-06 at approximately 6:40 pm, the victim was in the 18000 block of Tranquility when a person known to the victim as Steffen M. Day, w/m, 17 years of age, punched the victim several times in the face and demanded the victims money. The victim complied and gave Day the money. Day hit the victim again, taking the victims wallet. A total of $673.00 dollars was taken. Dy's Daigle and Prescott arrested Day and charged him with the prior listed crimes along with purse snatching.

On June 12, 2006, between the hours of 4pm and 8pm, The East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office conducted criminal patrols of the Gardere Area resulting in several arrests for both criminal and traffic offenses.

The following suspects were arrested for the following offenses:

Deputies also seized 20.5 grams of Marijuana with a street value of $102.50.

Deputies with the East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office Scat Team, Narcotics Division, ARAB Division, Financial Crimes Division, as well as Deputies from the Burbank Substation participated in this action.

A Burglary occurred at approximately 01:10am at 11450 Airline Hwy, the location of Cracker Barrel Convenience store. Two male subjects forced entry to the front doors of the business. The ATM machine located in the business was removed and the suspects left the area. The suspects were driving a late model Ford F250 or F350 pick-up truck that was white in color. The truck has chrome running boards, a dark colored bug shield, and a dark tool box mounted in the bed with a dark colored bed liner. Persons with information about the identity of the persons responsible for this burglary are asked to call 389-5000.
