Burglary at 13770 Old Hammond Hwy. location of Domino's Pizza. On 4-7-2007 at approximately 8:30am, Deputies responded to the prior listed business in reference to a burglary. Responding Deputies were advised between the hours of 2:30am and 8:30am on 4-7-2007 a brick was thrown through the front window of the store. The person or persons responsible for this burglary attempted to open the safe to no avail. A representative from the store advised no items were observed missing. Dy. S. Burglary at 10022 Hooper Rd. location of Big Chill Snowball Stand. On 4-7-2007 at approximately 1:00pm, Deputies responded to the prior listed business in reference to a burglary. The burglary occurred during the time period ranging from 7:15pm on 4-6-2007 to 1:00pm on 4-7-2007. The back door to the business was pried open. A representative from the stand advised the cash register, fax machine, cold drinks, candy and chips were missing. No money was inside the cash register. Dy. G. Damage to Property in the 19000 block of S. Harrells Ferry Rd. On 4-7-2007 at approximately 3:44pm, Deputies responded to the prior listed block in reference to a damaged mailbox. The resident owner returned home to discover that the mailbox for the residence had been damaged. Lt. B. Nicholson along with responding Deputies observed the mailbox had been damaged by some type of explosive device. Witnesses in the area advised hearing a loud booming noise at approximately 9:30pm on 4-6-2007. Lt. B. Nicholson along with Det. T. Morris are investigating this incident under file # 07-22243. Detectives are requesting the public's assistance in identifying the person or persons responsible for this incident. Burglary at 9024 Sullivan location of Salon FX. On 4-7-2007 at approximately 2:17am, Deputies responded to the prior listed business in reference to an audible alarm. Arriving Deputies observed the rear door to the salon had been forced open. The person or persons responsible for the damaged door fled the area prior to Deputies arrival. A representative from the salon arrived advising no items appeared to be missing or disturbed in the salon. Dy. P. Freeman investigated this incident under file # 07-22121. Incident: Illegal Use of a Weapon

Illegal Use of a Weapon at 13855 Broad Court. On 4-6-2007 at approximately 8:28pm, Deputies responded to the area of Kenner and Chalmette Ct. in reference to reports of shots being fired in the area. Dy's Thomas and Sweet were advised by witnesses in the area that the shots originated from a Black Ford Mustang with only one working headlight. Dy's patrolled the area locating a vehicle fitting the description provided by the witnesses at 13855 Broad Ct. Dy's observed two B/M subjects standing next to the vehicle. While contacting the subjects, Deputies observed a semi-auto handgun lying on the front passenger seat. Deputies arrested Michael Collins 17 year old B/M identified as the front seat passenger of the vehicle for illegal use of a weapon. Collins was processed and booked into the parish prison for the prior listed charges. Deputies M. Sweet and D. Thomas investigated this incident under file # 07-22074.

Incident: Damage to Property

Investigator: Lt's R. Stone and B. Nicholson

Damage to Property in the 22000 block of Hoo Shoo Too Rd, 20000 block of Hoo Shoo Too Rd. and 9600 block of S. Tiger Bend Rd. On 4-6-2007 at approximately 8:16am Deputies responded to the prior listed locations in reference to damaged mailboxes. The complainants observed the damage to their mailboxes during the morning hours on 4-6-2007. Lt's Stone and Nicholson were advised during the course of their investigation that the complainants heard a loud noise between the hours of 11:00pm and Midnight on 4-5-2007. An unknown explosive device was used to damage the mailboxes. No injuries were reported during the course of this investigation. Lt's R. Stone and B. Nicholson investigated this incident under file # 07-21911, 07-21921 and 07-21960 respectfully. Incident: Employee Theft

Betty Braxton (B/F, 29 years old), an employee of Olinde's Furniture, was arrested for Felony Theft after it was discovered that she was submitting fraudulent invoices as a means to obtain furniture and electronics without paying. Braxton was able to obtain a bedroom furniture set and two plasma televisions valued at $15,000.00. Detectives executed a search warrant at Braxton's residence and recovered much of the stolen property.

Incident: Narcotics Arrests

On 04-03-2007 EBRSO Narcotics agents concluded an investigation which resulted in the seizure of 45 dosage units of Xanabar, a small quantity of marijuana and a 12 guage shot gun. Due to this investigation agents arrested Dustin Copsey w/m dob 04/18/1984 and charged him with Poss of Sch III narc. and Poss of Sch I narc.. Also arrestd was Alfred McCalb w/m dob 01-08-1983. Mr. McCaleb was charged with PWITD. Sch III Narc. (Xanabar), Dist. OF SCH III Narc. (Xanabar) and Poss of a Firearm while in possession of Controled Dangerous Substances.

Incident: Attempt Second Degree Murder

Detectives are investigating a stabbing that occurred at 1680 O'Neal Lane, the location of Ole London Towne Apartments. The victim was walking to the dumpster when he was confronted by a Hispanic Male. The victim and suspect were involved in a confrontation which resulted in the victim being stabbed. The victim is being treated at a local hospital for his injury.

Detectives have identified the individual responsible for committing this crime. Jose Antonio Palma, H/M, 19yoa, was placed under arrest on April 1, 2007. Mr. Palma was charged with Attempt Second Degree Murder and booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison.
