Incident: Attempt First Degree Murder
Detectives are investigating a shooting that occurred in the 13700 block of Gentilly Court. The victim was shot while standing amid a group of people. The person responsible for the shooting is a B/M who had been involved in an ongoing dispute with the victim. After shooting the victim, the suspect fled the area in a white Pontiac. The victim was transported to a local hospital where he is being treated for a non life threatening injury.
At the time of the shooting, the responsible party was accompanied by at least two additional black males. One of the suspects was located and placed under arrest. Detectives have charged Carl James Ambeau, B/M, 24yoa, with Attempt First Degree Murder. Detectives are continuing this investigation, working to identify all responsible parties. Persons with information regarding this investigation are asked to call 389-5000.

Through continued investigation, detectives have identified a second suspect in this shooting. Detectives have obtained an Affidavit Warrant of Arrest for Bryan Williams, AKA: "Bernie Mac", black male, 19yoa. Mr. Williams whereabouts is unknown at this time. Detectives ask that persons with information regarding Mr. Williams call 389-5000.
Incident: Auto Theft
Dameon Johnice (B/M, DOB: 06/01/1977) was arrested by Detectives from the Financial Crimes Division for Forgery and Felony Theft. Johnice, a former employee of the dealership, filed fraudulent papers at the dealership so that Johnice could take possession of a 1997 Ford Expedition without paying for it. Several days later, the Expedition was driven to Houston, TX, reported as stolen, and an insurance claim was filed for the car.
Incident: Illegal Possession Of Stolen Things
This is additional information concerning the arrest on 02/26/2007 of Courtney A. Daigre, b/m, d.o.b. 08/12/1979 under East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office file number 07-12466. Courtney Daigre was stopped by Auto Theft Detectives driving a vehicle in the 4800 block of Hollywood St. that was later determined to be stolen. He was subsequently booked into the parish prison for Illegal Possession Of Stolen Things. During the initial traffic stop detectives located property in the car that was later verified as stolen. This property was found to have been taken during a vehicle burglary reported to the B.R.City Police under their file number 90434-06.
On 03/28/2007, Detective Welborn issued an arrest warrant accusing Courtney A.Daigre of L.R.S. 14:69 Titled Illegal Possession Of Stolen Things. Daigre was found to be incarcerated in another parish and a hold was placed on him.
Incident: Auto Theft Investigation
On 11-27-06, a white 1998 GMC truck, Texas License # 1CLK17, was stolen from 11611 Kenner Avenue. Through investigation, it was learned that Jimmy J. Hatfield Jr., black male, D.O.B. 1-22-1973, had taken the vehicle. On March 29, 2007, Auto Theft Detective, Cpl. Lann Wolf Issued a warrant for the arrest of Hatfield for violations of L.R.S. 14:62 titled Simple Burglary and L.R.S.14:67 titled Felony Theft. Anyone having information about the location of Jimmy Hatfield Jr. is asked to contact the East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office at 225-389-5000.
Incident: Narcotics Arrests
The Narcotics Division completed an investigation that resulted in the seizure of an ounce of marijuana, 18 grams of cocaine, and a 9mm handgun. As a result of this investigation Afrika Lusk (B/F, dob 5/12/1980) and Clyde Provo (B/M, dob 5/20/1960) were arrested and booked into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison Accordingly. Lusk was charged with distribution of crack cocaine, PWITD marijuana, possession of a firearm with CDS, and possession of a firearm by convicted felon. Provo was charged with PWITD cocaine, distribution of cocaine, possession of a firearm by convicted felon, and possession of a firearm with CDS.
Incident: Narcotics Arrest
On March 26, 2007 the Narcotics Division arrested Amanda Hupp (W/F, dob 6/10/1980) for PWITD Lortab. During the investigation the Narcotics Division worked in conjunction with the USPS concerning a package that Hupp was trying to mail out of state that contained 96 illegally obtained Lortab pills. Hupp was subsequently booked into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison for the above listed charge.
Incident: Narcotics Arrests and Money Seizure
The Narcotics Division concluded an investigation with the execution of a search warrant. The search warrant resulted in the seizure of approximately 100 grams of cocaine, a small amount of marijuana, a mac nine sub machine gun, an AR-15 assault rifle, a 12 gauge shot gun, a 9mm semi auto handgun, and $80,898.00 in drug proceeds. As a result of the investigation, Roy Davis(B/M, dob 11-14-1974) and Iris Roberts (B/F, dob 4-21-1980) were arrested and booked into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison for PWITD Cocaine, Possession of Marijuana, and Possession of Firearm While Possessing CDS.
Incident: Narcotics Arrest
The Narcotics Division concluded an investigation with the execution of a search warrant. The search warrant resulted in the seizure of approximately two pounds of marijuana, a handgun, and $1,183.00 in drug proceeds. The street value of the marijuana found at the search warrant is $4,140.00. As a result of the investigation, Jeffery Paul (B/M, dob 6/3/66) was arrested and booked into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison for Distribution of Marijuana, PWITD Marijuana, Felon in Possession of Firearm, and Illegal Possession of stolen things.
Incident: Narcotics Arrest
The Narcotics Division finished an investigation which resulted in the seizure of 6.5 pounds of marijuana and a handgun. As a result of this seizure, Christopher Hawkins (B/M dob 11/13/1970) was arrested for possession with intent to distribute marijuana, possession of firearm with CDS, and Carrying of weapon by convicted felon. Hawkins was subsequently booked into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison.
Incident: Narcotics Arrest and Money Seizure
The Narcotics Division concluded an investigation with the execution of a search warrant. The search warrant resulted in the seizure of 25 grams of cocaine and $17,953.00 of drug proceeds. As a result of this seizure Gregory Carr (B/M, dob 12-3-1973) was arrested for possession with intent to distribute cocaine and booked into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison.
Incident: Auto Theft Investigation
On March 07, 2007, a 2000 Ford F150 pickup truck, La. Lic. #W526129, and a tandem axle, 16 foot trailer, VIN# 189U11017UB089077, were taken from 10770 Jefferson Highway, the location of Safeguard Storage Facility. The main suspect in the theft was Robert Tomlin, w/m, D.O.B. 11-29-1968. Later on the same date, Tomlin was arrested by the Ponchatoula Police Dept. in reference to an unrelated Auto Theft. Upon arrest, Tomlin was found to be in possession of Vehicle keys that belonged to the Truck stolen from East Baton Rouge Parish. The truck and trailer were located in Ponchatoula, La. on March 08, 2007. Auto Theft detective Cpl. Lann Wolf issued an Affidavit warrant for the arrest of Tomlin for a violation of L.R.S. 14:67 titled Felony Theft and L.R.S. 14:62 titled Simple Burglary, based on information gained from the investigation of the Ponchatoula Police Dept. Tomlin was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on March 20, 2007 on the warrant issued by Cpl. Wolf.
Incident: Narcotics Arrest
A narcotics investigation was concluded when a subject by the name of Tin Tran (O/M dob 2-5-1987) was found to be in possession of 3.25 pounds of hydroponic marijuana. This marijuana has a street value of approximately $10,000.00. Tran was booked into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison for possession with intent to distribute marijuana.
Incident: Armed Robbery
Detectives are investigating an armed robbery that occurred in the 12700 block of Rambling Oaks Dr. The victim was retuning to her house when she was confronted by two black males. The victim was pushed into her house where she was robbed. The suspects fled the residence on foot. The suspects are described as follows: Black male, approximately 6' tall, wearing brown and tan camouflage pants with a dark colored shirt, a cream colored ball cap, and a black and blue bandanna covering his face. The second suspect is described as a black male. Persons with information regarding this investigation are asked to call 389-5000.
Incident: Auto Theft Investigation
On March 19, 2007, East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office Auto Theft Detectives received information that at 1330 hours that date, three subjects would be arriving at the Walmart Store, 2171 Oneal Ln. where they would be meeting an individual to sell a stolen 1999 Porsche Boxster. The Porsche had been reported stolen through the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office. Auto Theft Detectives, with the assistance of ARAB Detectives, responded to the area, however, the suspects did not show up. Auto Theft Detectives then received additional information indicating the suspects were in the parking lot of Ochsner Medical Center, located at 17000 Medical Center Drive, which was just around the corner from the Walmart Store. Detectives responded to the location and upon arriving located the suspects and the Porsche. Detectives recovered the stolen Porsche and seized an unregistered sawed off 12 gauge pump shotgun, which was in the suspects possession when stopped. Detectives took into custody (1) Jason Pizzalato w/m, dob 10/06/1980, who was charged with LRS 14:69 Illegal Possession of stolen things, LRS 40:1785 Possession of a unregistered sawed off shotgun and LRS 14:95.1 Felon in possession of a firearm, (2) Bernard Kimbro w/m, dob 06/25/1977, who was charged with LRS 14:69 Illegal possession of stolen things, and LRS 40:1785 Possession of a unregistered sawed off shotgun, (3) Erica Deerman w/f, dob 04/28/1981, who was charged with LRS 14:69 Illegal possession of stolen things. The investigation is continuing and additional charges could be forthcoming.
Incident: UPDATE: Attempted Second Degree Murder/ Poss. of Cocaine
UPDATE: Detectives arrested Aaron Kimble without incident at 3939 Victoria Dr. location of Victoria Trailer Park on 3-25-2007 in reference to the Attempted Second Degree Murder on Matthews Street. Kimble was also in possession of a quantity of crack cocaine at the time of his arrest. On 3-24-2007 at approximately 6:02pm, Deputies were advised that a B/M suffering from a gunshot wound to the arm was taken to a local hospital for treatment of their injuries. The injuries are non-life threatening. Responding Deputies along with Detectives were advised that the victim was shot at an unknown location on Matthews St. Detectives Green and Fruge learned the victim observed the accused sitting on a car in a driveway at an unknown residence on Matthews St. The victim confronted the accused in reference to the victims stolen truck, which was reported to The Baton Rouge Police Dept. several weeks ago. The accused presented a black and gray semi-auto handgun firing several rounds at the victim. The victim sought medical attention after being struck in the arm. The shooter was identified as Aaron Kimble 30-year-old B/M. Detectives are currently searching for Aaron Kimble; the accused frequents the Glen Oaks area. Detectives D. Green and K. Fruge' are investigating this incident under file # 07-18819. Detectives wish to thank the public for their cooperation in the capture of Aaron Kimble.
