Detectives are investigating a burglary that occurred at 10545 Jefferson Hwy., the location of Hoffmaster and Associates. An unknown person or persons forced entry into the business and committed the burglary. The person(s) fled the area prior to the arrival of responding deputies. On March 12th, 2007, Armed Robbery and Burglary Detectives (ARAB) from the Sheriff's Office arrested two adult males and one Juvenile male for the armed robbery of an individual that occurred in the area of Airline Hwy and Cedarcrest Avenue the previous night. Marcus Jones, B/M, 10-03-83, 3484 Cedarcrest Ave. #1311 BR LA 70816 and Wilber Davis Vallier Jr. B/M, 07-01-85, 3017 Aubin Ln. BR LA were subsequently charged for Armed Robbery and placed into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison. The Juvenile was transported to the EBR Juvenile Detention Center where he was and charged and booked

Incident: Simple Burglary of an Inhabited Dwelling , Simple burglary, 2 cts., Felony Theft

Detectives continued their investigation of residential burglaries and one business burglary which occurred in the Southeast portion of East Baton Rouge Parish. Detective Cpl. Stephen Hill and Sgt. Ken Jackson of the Sheriff's Office Armed Robbery and Burglary Division (ARAB) arrested three Juvenile individuals for one residential burglary located in the Shenandoah area and one business burglary, having occurred at the Southern Oaks Athletic Club, located at 15253 Shenandoah Avenue. The Juvenile suspects were charged accordingly and placed in the East Baton Rouge Parish Juvenile Detention Center. Two of the three juveniles were previously arrested for residential burglaries occurring in the Shenandoah area.

As a result of the investigation, Detectives recovered numerous stolen items in excess of $2775.00, which were later returned to the owners.

Detectives are investigating a burglary that occurred at 13556 Jefferson Highway, the location of Mason's Grill. At approximately 10:45pm, an unknown black male forced entry into the business. After committing a burglary, the suspect fled the area in an older model white Chevrolet pick up truck. Persons with information regarding this investigation are asked to call 389-5000.

On Thursday, March 8, 2007 at approximately 1200 hours East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Armed Robbery & Burglary Detectives arrested Phillip Jason Slay, white male, dob: 7/10/1987, 32186 Patty Ann Rd Denham Springs, LA for the thefts of approximately $900.00 worth of cellular phones from the Radio Shack located on 10218 Sullivan Rd and the Cingular Store located at 10241 Coursey Blvd.

Slay admitted to entering both stores, and while the clerks were distracted, he stole the cellular phones. Slay informed Detectives that he sold the phones for approximately $600.00.

At this time Detectives have not recovered the stolen cellular phones, but they are currently following up with information provided by Slay with regards to the whereabouts of the phones. Slay was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison for two counts of Theft.

Incident: Auto Theft Investigation

During a burglary investigation, information was obtained that led Auto Theft Detectives to interview Richard Leray (w/m, dob 10-9-70). Leray was incarcerated at the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on unrelated charges. It was determined through the investigation that Leray was responsible for the theft of a 1995 Honda Civic as well as a 2001 GMC Jimmy. Both vehicles were stolen from Blackies bar located at 10100 Sullivan road on November 06, 2006. Cpl. Wolf on March 08, 2007 charged Richard Leray with (2cts) L.R.S. 14:62 Simple Burglary and (2cts) L.R.S.14:67 Felony Theft.

Armed Robbery at 10615 Airline Hwy location of Cedarcrest Trailer Park. On 3-11-2007 at approximately 9:57pm, Deputies responded to the prior listed location in reference to an armed robbery of an individual. The victim was approached from behind by a B/M subject armed with a silver semi-automatic handgun. The B/M demanded the victim's money. The B/M took the victims wallet containing $ 180.00 dollars and a debit card. The B/M got on a bicycle and began to ride off; the victim chased the B/M until the B/M lost control of the bike near the corner of Cedarcrest and Airline Hwy. The B/M flagged down a Purple or Blue colored early 2000 model Ford Expedition entered the vehicle and fled the area. The B/M is described as 5'5" inches tall slim build dark complexion cornrow hairstyle wearing a white T-shirt blue jeans dark hooded shirt over his head with a red bandana covering his face. There were two B/M subjects occupying the Expedition the first subject was wearing a white shirt and blue jeans the second subject was wearing a black shirt and jeans. There were no injuries reported. Detective S. Gallo is investigating this incident under file # 07-15645. Incident: Attempted Burglary

Attempted Burglary at 11713 Plank Rd. location of The Sports Connection. On 3-11-2007 at approximately 11:38pm, Deputies responded to an alarm at the prior mentioned location. Arriving Deputies observed a section of glass located at the front of the store was cracked in several places. A representative from the store advised the glass was not crack prior to the alarm going off at the store. The person or persons responsible for this incident fled the area before Deputies arrival. The store was not entered, no further damage was noted. Sgt. N. Bertrand investigated this incident under file # 07-15645. Burglary at 11747 Plank Rd. location of Heavenly H.O.P.E. Ministries. On 3-11-2007 at approximately 11:43pm, Deputies responded to an alarm at The Sports Connection when witnesses advised the responding Deputy that a B/M was observed exiting the Ministry with a black bag through an opening in the front door created by the broken out section of glass. The B/M got on a dark colored mountain bike and fled north on Plank Rd. The B/M was described as 5'5" to 5'7" inches tall medium build wearing a dark colored parka or sweatshirt with khaki pants. The B/M was last observed on Rickover Street with a second subject described as a B/M 6'0" to 6'1" inches tall thin build wearing a dark sweat shirt and dark pants. The B/M's dropped the items that were taken from the Ministry. A representative from the Ministry confirmed that all of the items at the ministry were accounted for. Sgt. N.
