Incident: Armed Robbery
Detectives are investigating an armed robbery that occurred in the 2600 block of McHugh Rd. The victim reported that he had been gambling at a local casino. While at the casino he met a black male who later offered to give him a ride home. The victim accepted and both left the casino. The black male stopped at an unknown residence and allowed a second black male to enter the vehicle. Both black males then took the victim to McHugh Rd., where he was robbed at gun point. After robbing the victim, the suspects left the area, leaving the victim behind. The suspects are described as follows: Suspect #1:Black male, approximately 5'10" to 6' tall, medium to dark complexion, short hair with a mustache, wearing a white "Nascar sponsor" jacket and blue jeans. Suspect #2: Black male, approximately 6' to 6'2" tall, slim build, shoulder length braided hair, wearing a light colored striped polo shirt and a white ball cap. The suspects were last seen occupying a late model maroon Mitsubishi Galant. Persons with information regarding this investigation are asked to call 389-5000.
Incident: First Degree Murder, Attempt First Degree Murder
Detectives from the East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office are currently seeking Darryl Stovall (B/M, DOB: 02/21/1988) and Norman Galle (B/M, DOB: 12/14/1987) pursuant to arrest warrants for First Degree Murder and Attempted First Degree Murder. They are wanted for the homicide of Devion Goings, 17, in the 8200 block of Skysail Avenue on the afternoon of March 2, 2007. Another individual was also shot during the incident, but is expected to survive his injuries. Witnesses reported seeing Darryl Stovall flee the scene with several other subjects in a grey or silver 2002 Chevrolet Malibu, LA Lic# KBD955, and he is possibly heading to the New Orleans area. Anyone with information about the investigation or the whereabouts of Darryl Stovall and Norman Galle is asked to contact the East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office at 389-5000.
UPDATE
On March 3, 2007, Norman Galle was placed under arrest at the East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office. Mr. Galle presented himself to investigating detectives who booked him into the EBR Parish Prison.
Incident: Attempted Simple Robbery
Attempted Simple Robbery in the 9900 block of Burbank. On 3-1-2007 at approximately 8:30pm, Deputies responded to the prior listed location in reference to an attempted robbery of an individual. Deputies were advised by the victim that while walking on Burbank somewhere between the Albertson Supermarket and Bluebonnet Place Apts. A B/M approximately 6'0" tall 200 pounds wearing a black hooded jacket and black bandana across his face exited the wooded area and approached the victim from behind demanding the victims money. The victim fled until they were at a secure location. The victim was not injured. No weapon was seen during the incident. Dy. Darensbourg investigated this incident under file # 07-13288. Incident: Simple Burglary, Theft, Simple Criminal Damage to Property
On March 1, 2007, the Shell Station located at 7111 Hooper Rd., was burglarized by a white male wearing a dark shirt and blue jeans. Through investigation, Uniform Patrol Deputies and Cpl. Brent Travis with the East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office Armed Robbery and Burglary Division, identified the white male as Thomas Craig, W/M, Dob: 3/21/1976 of 9834 Blackwater Rd., Baton Rouge, La. Cpl. Travis has issued an Affidavit Warrant for Craig's arrest for Simple Burglary, Theft, and Criminal Damage To Property. Anyone with information on Thomas Craig's whereabouts is requested to contact the East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office Armed Robbery and Burglary Division at 389-5064 or 389-5000.
Incident: Auto Theft Investigation
On February 26, 2007, Auto Theft Detectives Lt. Brent Callender and Sgt. Billy Welborn conducted a traffic stop of a vehicle in the 4800 block of Hollywood Street,due to non moving violations and the registration not matching the description of the vehicle. Upon the driver exiting the vehicle, he gave detectives false information in reference to his identity. Detectives recognized the individual to be Courtney Amar Daigre, B/M, d.o.b. 08/12/1979, who resides at 3388 Brady St., Baton Rouge, La. Detectives found and confirmed that Daigre had two active bench warrants in reference to Illegal Possession of Stolen Things. These bench warrants were related to Daigre being in possession of stolen vehicles in the past. Detectives placed Daigre under arrest in reference to the bench warrants and booked him into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison. Detectives also officially stored the vehicle he was driving.
On February 27, 2007, Auto Theft Detectives found and confirmed that the vehicle identification numbers, on the vehicle Daigre was driving, had been switched. The correct numbers revealed the vehicle was stolen. The theft was reported to the Baton Rouge City Police on September 06, 2005, under file #05-87165.
On February 28, 2007, Daigre was charged with (1ct) LRS 14:207 Altering or removing of a VIN, and (1ct) LRS 14:69 Illegal possession of stolen things. Investigation continues.
Incident: Aggravated Burglary
Detectives are investigating an aggravated burglary that occurred in the 13300 block of Felton Clark Dr. Several victims were located in a residence when two black males forced their way inside. The suspects struck several of the victims while robbing them of their belongings. Both suspects were armed with handguns during the commission of the crime. The suspects are described as follows: Suspect #1: Black male, approximately 6'1" to 6'2" in height, wearing a red shirt and black pants, having several gold teeth. Suspect #2: Black male, approximately 5'8" in height, approximately 200lbs, wearing a blue sweatshirt with a hood and a bandanna covering his face. Incident: Multiple Vehicle Burglaries
On Friday, February 16, 2007 East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office Armed Robbery & Burglary (ARAB) Detectives "TJ" Pitre, Cpl. Darryl Michelli, and Sgt. Kent Landacre arrested Justin Anthony Ainsworth, white male, dob: 12/15/1988 and (4) juveniles for multiple vehicle burglaries. The file numbers are as follows:
07-00939, 07-00997, 07-03997, 07-07350, 07-07360, 07-07362, 07-07380, 07-07469, 07-07561, 07-08132, 07-08210, 07-08698, 07-08730, 07-08761, 07-08894, 07-08899, 07-08902, 07-08909, 07-08913, 07-08915, 07-08924, 07-08932, 07-08953, 07-08964, 07-08982Detectives were investigating an unrelated residential burglary when they obtained information that Ainsworth and the (4) juveniles were bragging at Central High School that they had committed several vehicle burglaries. Detectives learned that Ainsworth and the (4) juveniles had stolen firearms from some of the burglarized vehicles and that they had sold the firearms to another juvenile(s).
During questioning Ainsworth and the (4) juveniles made post-Miranda statements identifying the following locations as areas where they have committed several vehicle burglaries:
Northwoods Subdivision, Monhegan Ave area, Ramblin Oaks area, Bellingrath Subdivision, Biltmore Subdivision, Oak Cluster area.
Detectives have been unsuccessful with the recovery any of the stolen belongings, particularly the (3) stolen firearms, however additional arrests are likely.
Ainsworth and (3) juveniles were arrested for (25 counts) Simple burglary, (25 counts) Theft, (3 counts) Theft of a firearm. The fourth juvenile was arrested for (1 count) Illegal possession of stolen things.
