Incident: Aggravated Assault with a Firearm

Aggravated Assault with a Firearm at 6401 Bluebonnet location of Macy's Department Store. On 2-10-2007 at approximately 3:50pm, Deputies responded to the Mall of Louisiana in reference to shots being fired in the area of Macy's Dept. Store. Uniform patrol Deputies from Burbank and Kleinpeter Substations along with Detectives responded to the mall. Detectives located and interviewed one of the suspected victims. The victim advised Detectives as the victim along with two friends were exiting the door located on the east side of Macy's they were approached by two or three B/M's, one of the B/M's was wearing a green shirt and armed with a handgun. The B/M began firing at the victim. The victim fled into the store seeking security officers. The shooter identified by his green shirt entered "The Shoe Dept. Store" and was observed placing an item into a shoebox and on the shelf. The shooter removed his green shirt and exited the store wearing a black shirt over a white one. The shooter proceeded to Lockworks Hair Salon for a brief moment and fled the store and mall. No shots were fired inside of the mall. No injuries were reported. Deputies A. Genola and S. Glover recovered the weapons placed in the shoebox. The shooter is described as a B/M 6'2" inches tall very lean build low fade haircut and dark complexion. The shooter was last seen leaving the mall dressed in a black shirt with a white shirt underneath it dark jeans along with green and black tennis shoes. The motive for the incident is unknown at this time. Detective T. Morris is investigating this incident under file # 07-08764. Detectives are requesting the public's assistance in identifying the person or persons involved in this incident. Anyone with information concerning this incident is asked to contact the East Baton Rouge Sheriffs Office at 225-389-5000. On 12-07-2006, two black males, while occupying a red sports car, possibly a red Alero, committed three separate Armed Robberies of individuals in the 5000 block of Everett Lane. These armed robberies occurred at three separate locations, but within minutes of each other. Through investigation, Det. Dipuma was able to arrest one Corey Jackson, B/M, Dob: 06-27-1988, of 9124 Hasting St., Baton Rouge, La., on (3)cts. Armed Robbery. The following file #s were cleared, 06-81527, 06-81519 and 06-81530. The investigation continues with more arrests pending.

On 02-01-2007, Det. Johnathan Alfred of the East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriffs Office Armed Robbery and Burglary Division, arrested one Christopher Baker, W/M, Dob: 07/16/1971, of 4929 Cavalier Dr., Baton Rouge, La., on (8)cts Simple Burglary, (8)cts Felony Theft. Baker was arrested for burglarizing several homes that were still under construction in South Baton Rouge. Through this investigation Det. Alfred was able to clear the following file#s, 06-52503, 06-57019, 06-61025, 06-61588, 06-64508, 06-77966, 06-82595, and 06-86377. The investigation continues by Det. Alfred with more arrests probable.

Aggravated Assault with a Firearm and Aggravated Battery at 6555 Vineyard. On 2-5-2007 at approximately 9:50pm, Deputies responded to the prior listed residence in reference to the home being struck by a bullet. The compl. advised Deputies while cooking in the kitchen the compl. heard a gunshot, shortly thereafter a bullet penetrated the carport wall, entered the kitchen and grazed the compl. The bullet fragment was recovered from the floor. The compl. didn't recall hearing a vehicle drive off. No injuries were reported. Detectives were notified. Dy. C. Incident: Aggravated Burglary, Simple Battery, Simple Criminal Damage To Property

On 02/04/2007 at approx. 0235hrs, the victim who resides at 6533 Glen Echo, Baton Rouge, La., received a phone call from an unknown B/M, who asked to speak with "Kendra". The victim told the subject that "Kendra" was not there and the caller disconnected. Shortly after the phone call Dedrick J. Williams, B/M, of 6533 Glen Echo Dr. Baton Rouge, La. broke into the victims residence by shattering a window near the victims bedroom. The victim immediately called 911. Dys were able to respond to the residence where they located Williams in the kitchen of the victims home. Williams was arrested on the above charges and transported to the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison where he was booked accordingly.

On 1/31/2007 at approx. 2230hrs, a B/m, subject while armed with a handgun entered the Cracker Barrel Store, located at 5550 Bluebonnet Blvd., Baton Rouge, La. and robbed the clerk of the stores money. The subject then fled from the store on foot. Det. Dipuma after further investigation arrested one Kenneth Glasper B/M, of 540 Flatsway Dr., Baton Rouge, La., with one count of Armed Robbery(07-06667). Glasper was then transported to the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison where he was booked accordingly.

Incident: Aggravated Second Degree Battery

Detectives are investigating a stabbing that occurred at 13958 Triple B Rd. Deputies were summoned to the area in reference to a male victim who had been stabbed. Upon arrival, deputies learned that several people had been watching the super bowl in an apartment. An altercation occurred which resulted in the victim being stabbed. The individual responsible for the victim's injuries was identified and arrested. Detectives charged Todd Ballard, w/m, 18yoa, with Aggravated Second Degree Battery. The victim was treated at a local hospital for non life threatening injuries.
