Detectives are investigating a burglary that occurred at 5555 Essen Lane, the location of QVL Pharmacy. At Approximately 7:30am, three male suspects entered the pharmacy and committed the burglary. The suspects fled the area prior to the arrival of responding deputies. Persons with information regarding this investigation are asked to call 389-5000.

Deputies are investigating a burglary that occurred at 7513 Prescott Rd. At approximately 7:52pm, an unknown person or persons forced entry into God's Way Christian Academy. The responsible party fled the area prior to the arrival of responding deputies. Persons with information regarding this investigation are asked to call 389-5000.

Attempted Armed Robbery at 15958 Old Hammond Hwy. location of the Circle K Store. On 1-18-2007 at approximately 5:00pm, Deputies responded to the prior listed location in reference to an attempted armed robbery. A B/M came into the store presenting a note to the victim, the victim observed the note, turned and walked away from the B/M. The B/M took the note and fled the store last seen heading toward the Interstate on O'Neal Lane. It is unknown whether the B/M fled on foot or in a vehicle. Deputies are looking for a B/M dark complexion with two upper gold teeth low haircut approximately 6'0" inches tall weighing 200 to 230 pounds wearing a dark blue sweat shirt with hood and khaki pants. On January 17, 2007, Cpl. Brent Travis with the East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office Armed Robbery and Burglary Division arrested Terrica Wood, w/f, Dob: 4/13/1971, and Charles Wood, w/m, Dob:9/9/1974 both who reside at 4747 South Park Dr.,Apt#112, Baton Rouge, La., for the vehicle burglary that occurred at 11330 Coursey Blvd., on January 7, 2007 reported under EBRSO file# 07-1437. Cpl. Travis arrested both subjects for Simple Burglary and Theft. Both subjects were transported to the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison where they were booked accordingly. Through his investigation Cpl. Travis was able to recover some of the victims belongings.

On December 27,2006, Auto Theft Detective Cpl. Lann Wolf was informed of a possible stolen Bobcat Skid Steer Loader, located on a piece of property in the 8000 block of Sullivan Road. The Bobcat Skid Steer Loader was located at 8888 Sullivan Road. Cpl Wolf found that the product identification number plate had been removed and the model number had been changed. Cpl. Wolf was able to identify the machine, however, by locating an alternate hidden number and it was determined to have been reported stolen through the Baton Rouge Police Department on May 11,2006, under file #51685-06. Cpl. Wolf recovered the machine which was valued at approx. $19,000.00. Cpl. Wolf also learned through investigation that a Clyde P. Roy, w/m, dob 10/26/1944 of 5157 Pecan Island Road, Jarreau La., had been using the machine. After additional investigation, a warrant was issued for Clyde P. Roy, w/m, dob 10/26/1944, in reference to LRS 14:69 titled Illegal possession of stolen things and on January 12,2007, he was booked into the Parish Prison. Investigation continues.

Burglary at 15166 Tiger Bend Rd. location of Techni-Cuts Hair Salon. On 1-18-2007 at approximately 12:55am, Detective N. Crawford was driving past the front of the prior listed business when the Detective observed the front door of the business was open. Detective Crawford along with responding Deputies from Kleinpeter Substation checked the business for the person or persons responsible for kicking in the front door. Deputies found no one inside or outside of the business. A representative from the business arrived advising Deputies that approximately $ 25.00 dollars was missing from the cash register. Deputies also noted damage to a gumball machine located inside the business. Detective Crawford investigated this incident under file # 07-003700. On 1/17/07, Deputies with the S.C.A.T. Team, Armed Robbery and Burglary and Narcotics Divisions conducted criminal patrols in the Mall City area. Deputies made the following arrests and seizures:

1. Kathy Armstead - (Female 43) - Cited for No Light on License Plate and No Insurance.

2. Alphonse Denham Jr. - (Male 48) - Arrested for Drinking in a Motor Vehicle.

3. Annette Briggs - (Female 26) - Arrested for Possession of Marijuana.

4. Kentrick Williams - (Male 26) - Arrested for Possession of Marijuana, No Light on License Plate and Driving Under Suspension.

5. Demetrius Warren - (Male 22) - Cited for Headlights Required, Expired MVIS and No Registration.

6. Ramon Myles - (Male 26) - Cited for No Seatbelt and Open Container.

7. Roger Noble - (Male 18) - Cited for No Taillights, No Inspection Sticker, No Insurance and No Driver's License.

Deputies seized approx. 76.5 grams of suspected marijuana with a street value of $382.50.

On January 3,2007, Detectives Sgt.Corcoran, Cpl.Michelli, Det.Pitre and Moore observed a Red, 2001 Chevy Monte Carlo traveling on Joor rd. at a high rate of speed. Det.'s attempted to stop the vehicle twice on Greenwell st. where the vehicle stopped both times and fled as Det.'s exited their units. The driver was further seen throwing unknown items out of his window. The Driver/Suspect Jerry Huggins, Black Male, Dob:5-20-80 of 5324 Winter Ave. was subsequently arrested at 4665 Shelley St. as he fled away from his vehicle. Huggins was booked into the EBR Parish Prison with Poss. of Cocaine, Poss. of Marijuana, Resisting an Officer and Agg. Obstruction of Highway of Commerce. Huggins was issued Traffic Violation for Speeding and Red Lights.

On January 4, 2006, Cpl. Brent Travis with the East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office Armed Robbery and Burglary Division arrested a Juvenile for two counts of Att. First Degree Murder, one count of Armed Robbery and one count of Att. Armed Robbery, these incidents taking place on December 19, 2006, at 9217 Orleans Dr. and 13816 Broad Ct. These incidents were reported under EBRSO file numbers 06-84409 and 06-84464. Cpl. Travis was able to identify the Juvenile through a Photographic line up. The Juvenile was booked into the EBR Juvenile Detention on the above listed charges.

On 01-06-2007 at 1815hrs, Det. Kent Landacre and Det. Nathan Crawford, both of the East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office Armed Robbery and Burglary Division, arrested one Albert Gerald Jones, B/M, of 871 Oneal Lane, Baton Rouge, La., on (18)cts Simple Burglary and (23)cts Theft. Through investigation by Dets it was determined that Jones was responsible for burglarizing the Millerville Academy School and Redeeming Life Church, both located at 871 Oneal Lane, Baton Rouge, La. It was also determined that over the last six months Jones burglarized the Redeeming Life Church approx. seventeen times. Jones pawned the stolen items at local pawn shops. Dets were able to recover approx. $8,000.00 dollars worth of stolen property. Jones was subsequently arrested and transported to the Parish Prison for the above charges.

Detectives are investigating an assault by drive-by shooting that occurred in the 7100 block of Pitcairn Dr. Deputies were summoned to the area in reference to reports of several gun shots being heard. Upon arrival, deputies were informed by a resident that his house had been shot several times. At the time of the incident the residence was occupied, but no injuries occurred. Update

On January 14, 2007, Cpl. Brent Travis with the East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office Armed Robbery and Burglary Division, along with Uniform Patrol Lt. D. Sonnier and Cpl. J. Bell, arrested William Roper III (w/m, dob:8/28/70 of 13044 Hooper Rd.) for the robbery of the Express One Stop, located at 9150 Joor Rd., which occurred on 1/14/07. Through investigation, Cpl. Travis additionally charged Roper for the robbery of the Subway Restaurant, located at 13511 Hooper Rd., which occurred on 12/23/06. These incidents were filed under EBRSO file numbers 07-3093 and 06-85382. Roper was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on two counts of First Degree Robbery.

On January 12, 2007, Cpl. Brent Travis with East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office Armed Robbery and Burglary Division arrested a Juvenile for a vehicle burglary that occurred at 7926 Jefferson Place Blvd, on September 24, 2006. Cpl. Travis was able to identify the Juvenile through a Latent finger print that was lifted off of the vehicle. The Juvenile was charged with Simple Burglary and Theft. This incident was reported under EBRSO file # 06-64334.

Aggravated Assault with a Firearm at 8415 Greenwell Springs Rd. On 1-14-2007 at approximately 9:30pm, Deputies responded to a report of shots being fired in the prior listed area. Investigating Deputies were advised by the victims (two juveniles) that while walking west bound on Greenwell Springs road a White Ford Explorer occupied by two B/M's and one B/F stopped and asked the juveniles where they could buy some marijuana. The juveniles stated they didn't know where the subjects could find marijuana. The subjects in the Explorer drove off at this time. As the Explorer exited the area, several shots were fired from the vehicle toward the direction of the juveniles. No one was injured during this incident. The license plate on the vehicle was not available at this time. Deputies R. Morris and K.Thompson are investigating this incident under file # 07-003094. First Degree Robbery at 9150 Joor Rd. location of the Shell Express One Stop. On 1-14-2007 at approximately 9:17 pm, Deputies responded to a robbery at the prior listed location. Deputies were advised that a W/M approximately 5'9" inches tall thin build long blond hair with a beard wearing blue jeans and a black hooded sweat shirt demanded the victim open the cash register while holding his hand in his jacket pocket. The W/M fled the store in a Blue in color Dodge 2 Door Truck heading on Lovett Rd. toward Sullivan Rd. The robber took approximately $ 140.00 dollars in cash from the store. Lt. D. Sonnier while responding to the call observed the Dodge truck at the intersection of Triple B and Sullivan Rd. The Lt. along with additional Deputies from Central and Scotlandville Substations stopped the vehicle on La. 37 south of Frenchtown Rd. The driver of the vehicle identified as William J. Roper W/M 36 years of age was identified as the subject that committed the robbery. The money taken from the store was recovered. Det. B. Travis with the Armed Robbery Division took over the investigation arresting the accused on the prior listed charges. The subject was processed and booked into the parish prison. Det. B. Travis and Lt. D. Sonnier investigated this incident under file # 07-003093.

Carjacking at 8200 Grayson. On 1-14-2007 at approximately 8:21am, Deputies responded to a complaint of a carjacking at the prior listed location. The victim advised Deputies that on 1-14-2007 at approximately 12:30am, an unknown B/M tall with a slim build took the victims 2006 Silver and Grey four door Dodge Charger bearing La. License plate 0NH194 with dark tinted windows. No injuries were reported. Cpl. K. Mills investigated this incident under file # 07-002943.
