Incident: Felony Theft, Reckless Operation and Aggravated Obstruction of a Highway

Felony Theft, Reckless Operation and Aggravated Obstruction of a Highway at 13501 Florida Blvd. location of Rick's Seafood and Burgers. On 12-17-2006 at approximately 7:01am, the owner of the restaurant observed two b/m subjects loading his riding lawn mower into the back of a 1978 Red Ford truck. The owner of the business followed the subjects while calling the Sheriffs Office. During the course of the incident, one of the subjects exited the vehicle pushing the lawn mower out of the bed of the truck into the path of the owner on Flannery Rd. The mower did not strike the vehicle. Lt. James along with Dy Tullier stopped the truck in the area of White Sands and Elaine. Cpl. Clark along with other Deputies identified and arrested Earl Wade Jr. 43 year old b/m and Roderick Williams 40 year old b/m for the prior listed charges along with several misdemeanor charges. The subjects were booked into the parish prison. No injuries were reported during this incident. The owner's property was recovered. Cpl. Clark investigated this incident under file #06-83810.

Incident: Attempted 2nd. Degree Murder

Attempted 2nd. Degree Murder at 3208 Carol Jack. On 12-17-2006 at approximately 4:19am, Deputies responded to the prior listed residence in reference to a 29 year old w/m suffering from a knife wound. Witnesses advised Detectives that a friend of the victim known as Keisha b/f approximately 26 to 28 years of age stabbed the victim as the victim attempted to calm her down. The accused was upset over money that she suspected someone had stolen from her. The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. During the course of the Detectives investigation, Detectives identified the accused as Nekesha Anderson 28 year old b/f. Detectives located the accused at a local hospital where she was being treated for an injury she sustained while breaking out a window at the residence. The accused was charged with Attempted 2nd. Degree Murder and transported to the Parish Prison where she was booked accordingly. Detective Green investigated this incident under file # 06-83797.

Incident: Attempted Burglary

Attempted Burglary at 13565 Hooper Rd. location of Central Drug Store. On 12-17-2006 at approximately 4:51am, Deputies responded to an alarm at the prior listed business. Deputies observed the window located next to the front door had been broken. The responding Deputies did not see anyone in or near the store. A representative from the business responded to the store. No items were reported missing at this time. Dy's Freeman and Rizan investigated this incident under file # 06-83798. Incident: Armed Robbery

Armed Robbery at 6630 Siegen Lane location of Siegen Village Apartments. On 12-17-2006 at approximately 12:08am, Deputies were dispatched to the apartment complex in reference to an armed robbery. Deputies were advised the victim arrived at the apartment complex to drop off a friend near the rear of the building. The victim parked their vehicle a 90's model Silver Ford Explorer. Before the passenger exited the vehicle a b/m wearing a black T-shirt and black cap armed with a semi-auto handgun demanded the driver's money. The b/m fled the area on foot after taking approximately $2,000.00 dollars in cash. No injuries were reported. Dy. LeBlanc and Detective Hill investigated this incident under file # 06-83758. Incident: Purse Snatching

Purse Snatching at 9990 Bluebonnet location of Albertson's. On 12-16-2006 at approximately 11:55am, Deputies responded to the report of a purse snatching at the prior listed location. The victim advised Deputies that a young b/m subject took the victims purse from their arm and fled behind the store. Witnesses advised deputies that a Blue Ford Crown Victoria bearing La. License plate PVG398 was observed riding around the parking lot after the incident occurred. Deputies stopped the vehicle a short distance from the store and observed one adult b/m and one juvenile b/m occupying the vehicle. Upon further investigation, Deputies recovered the victim's purse arresting the following subjects. George Johnson 18 year old b/m and one 11-year-old b/m juvenile. Deputies are currently looking for the third subject involved in the incident a b/m juvenile approximately 11 to 12 years of age. No injuries were reported. The adult was also charged with Contributing to the Delinquency of a Juvenile. Dy. G. Johnson investigated the incident under file # 06-83598.

Incident: Armed Robbery

Armed Robbery at 8235 Skysail. On 12-15-2006 at approximately 7:54pm, Deputies responded to the previous address in response to an armed robbery. Four b/m subjects entered the victim's apartment through an unlocked front door; one of the b/m's was armed with a handgun. Once inside the residence the four b/m's robbed the occupants taking three cell phones, one wallet and $80.00 in cash. Two additional b/m's waited outside while the robbery took place. The robbers struck one of the victims in the face. No other injuries were reported. There are no descriptions on the robbers at this time. The subjects fled the area on foot. Detective S. Incident: Drug and Weapon Seizure

On Thursday, December 14, 2006 at approximately 2:00 am, EBRSO Narcotics Division Interdiction Deputies (HIDTA II) made a traffic stop of an El Expreso passenger bus. The bus was traveling from Houston, TX to Miami, FL and was stopped traveling eastbound on I-12 near Sherwood. The stop and subsequent odor alert by K-9 Laika resulted in the seizure of approximately 52 pounds of marijuana and a stolen .22 caliber pistol. The estimated street value of the marijuana is $118,000.00.

Incident: Purse Snatching

Deputies are investigating a purse snatching that occurred in the 4700 block of Floynel Dr. The victim was walking home when she observed two black males walking towards her. As the black males passed, one of them took her purse from her shoulder. Both suspects then fled the area on foot. The suspects are described as follows: Suspect # 1. Black male, mid 20s in age, approximately 5'10" in height, approximately 250 to 260lbs, wearing a white sweatshirt and dark colored shorts. Suspect # 2. Black male, mid 20s in age, approximately 5'4" in height, weighing approximately 150 to 160lbs, wearing black clothing. Incident: Burglary of an Inhabited Dwelling

Deputies are investigating a burglary that occurred at 10580 Springglen Ct. Deputies were summoned to the area by neighbors who observed three black males force entry into the residence. After committing the burglary, the suspects fled the area. Deputies who responded began to search for the suspects in the surrounding area.

While searching, deputies were alerted to a group of black males who were attempting to commit a theft in Old Hermitage subdivision. Responding deputies observed possible suspects running away as they arrived. Deputies subsequently located two black males in a parking lot located at 1557 Gardere Ln. One of the black males matched the description of the suspects who had committed the burglary on Springglen Ct. Upon contact, the black male was found with property that was taken during the Springglen Ct. burglary. The black male was identified as a juvenile and placed into juvenile detention.

Incident: Cash & Credit Cards Seized

Acting on a tip from the US Secret Service, Detectives with the Financial Crimes Division executed a search warrant at a storage unit on Captial Court. Two suspects were known to be making counterfeit credit cards, selling the cards, and using them to make purchases. Detectives recovered $43,000.00 in cash, counterfeit credit cards, blank credit cards, a plasma TV, and other electronics.

The investigation is ongoing and Detectives are still interviewing suspects. Suspect John Washington (B/M DOB: 3/31/71) has not been located and is believed to be hiding in the New Orleans area.

Incident: Narcotics Arrest and Traffic Enforcement

On 12/09/06, Deputies with the S.C.A.T. Team, Armed Robbery and Burglary and Narcotics Divisions conducted criminal patrols in the Mall City and Glen Oaks areas. Deputies made the following arrests and seizures:

Mall City:

1. Terrance Campbell - (Male 30) - Arrested for Loitering, Possession of Marijuana and Resisting an Officer.

Glen Oaks:

1. Trenton Payne - (Male 28) - Arrested for Possession of Marijuana, No Seatbelt and Driving Under Suspension.

2. John Christopher Bennett - (Male 26) - Arrested for Resisting an Officer and Failure to Signal Turn.

3. Curtis Bennett - (Male 32) - Arrested for P.W.I.T.D. Marijuana, Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Cocaine, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Illegal Possession of a Firearm with CDS and Theft ( bench warrant).

Deputies seized approx. 85.2 grams of suspected marijuana with a street value of $426.00 and approx. 11.1 grams of suspected cocaine with a street value of $1,110.00. Deputies also seized one Hi-Point .45 caliber semi-automatic handgun with a street value of $300.00 dollars.
