Incident: Attempted 2nd Degree Murder

Attempted 2nd Degree Murder in the 1300 block of Jasper Ave. On 11-4-2006 at approximately 7:54am, Deputies responded to the prior listed address in reference to the shooting of an individual. Upon Deputies and Detectives arriving on scene, Detectives were advised by witnesses that a b/m identified as Larenzo Charles Dixon b/m dob 5/31/1984 approximately 5'10" inches tall 185 pounds shot the victim while the victim was seated in the drivers seat of the victims vehicle. The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment of their wounds. The wounds are non-life threatening. The accused fled the scene on foot. No motive is known for the shooting. Detective Ruiz drafted an Affidavit Warrant of arrest for Larenzo Dixon. Incident: Auto Accident / Fatality

Deputies are investigating a one vehicle accident in the 1200 block of Millerville Road. The driver of a 2000 Mazda Millenia was traveling north on Millerville Road when he crossed the center line and left the roadway. After traveling a short distance the vehicle struck a tree and came to a stop. The driver was transported to a local hospital where he died as the results of the accident. The cause of the accident is under investigation.

Incident: Armed Robbery

Detectives are investigating an armed robbery that occurred in the 1200 block of West Azalea Park. The victims were standing outside of a residence when they were approached by two black males. One of the black males produced a handgun and robbed the victims of their personal belongings. The suspects the left the area in a vehicle belonging to one of the victims. The vehicle was recovered in the area of North Sherwood Meadow. The suspects are described as follows: Suspect #1. Black male, wearing a red and blue striped shirt. Suspect #2. Black male, thin build, wearing white shorts and a dark blue jacket. Persons with information regarding this investigation are asked to call 389-5000.

Incident: Second Degree Kidnapping

Deputies are investigating a second degree kidnapping that occurred at 13435 Hooper Road, the location of Circle K. The victim had parked her vehicle in front of the gas pumps and entered the store. Upon returning to the vehicle, the victim was confronted by a black male who had entered the vehicle. The suspect produced a handgun and ordered the victim to drive. After traveling through Livingston Parish, the suspect ordered the victim to stop the vehicle. The suspect then exited the vehicle and fled. The victim believes that the suspect fled the vehicle in a remote area of St. Helena Parish. The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 6' tall, weighing approximately 180-190lbs, wearing blue work pants and a white and purple striped shirt. On 10-26-2006 Dets Pitre and Strickland, both of the East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriffs Office Armed Robbery and Burglary Division, began an investigation concerning a theft which occurred at a construction site located at 9868 Blackwater Rd. Through investigation Dets were able to arrest a one Darren Swarner, DOB: 02-15-1976, of 11222 Hooper Rd. for Theft. Swarner was booked into the Parish Prison.

Incident: Simple Burglary and Theft

On 7-26-2006 at approximately 1017hrs, the East Baton Rouge Sheriffs Office was dispatched to 6333 Feathernest Dr., Baton Rouge, La. regarding a vehicle Burglary at that location. On this date unknown person(s) burglarized the comp's vehicle, a 2001 Jeep Cherokee while it was parked in the comp's driveway. Once inside the vehicle the suspects removed Misc. Tools and Stereo Equipment from the vehicle. It was later learned that some of the stolen items had been pawned at a local Pawn Shop in Baton Rouge, La. Det. Dipuma through further investigation arrested a one Kyle Roussel, DOB: 8/28/1987, of 1054 Oakley Dr. Baton Rouge, La. and a one Nathan Baldwin, DOB: 8/4/1989, of 6431 Doubletree, Baton Rouge, La. for Simple Burglary and Felony Theft concerning the Comp's vehicle. Both subjects were booked into the Parish Prison on said charges.

Incident: Attempt Robbery

Attempt Robbery in the 4500 block of Victoria Dr. On 11-1-2006 at approximately 1:50am, Deputies responded to the area in reference to an attempted robbery. The victim advised deputies they were walking on Victoria Dr. near the bridge when a b/m exited the woods and demanded the victim's money. The victim advised the subject they had no money. The subject searched the victim and fled the area. The victim was unharmed, no valuables were taken. The b/m is described as 6'0" tall approximate 30 years of age, heavy set build, dark complexion, wearing a black shirt and dark colored jeans. The victim didn't see a weapon; the subject held his hand under his shirt in a manner indicating a weapon was present. Dy. G. Robinson investigated this incident under file # 06-73368. Burglary at 19970 Highland Rd. Suite B-4 location of Radio Shack. On 10-31-2006 at approximately 3:45am, Deputies responded to an alarm at the prior listed business. Deputies observed the glass to the front door was broken upon arrival. A representative from the store advised Deputies two 32-inch plasma televisions were missing. An AKAI 32 inch plasma screen television valued at approximately $ 1,000.00 dollars was taken along with an LG brand 32-inch plasma screen television valued at approximately $ 1,199.00 dollars was also taken. Incident: Vehicle Burglary and Theft

Vehicle Burglary and Theft at 5469 Winter. On 10-30-2006 between the hours of 2:00pm and 5:00pm a white Ford E-150 van was burglarized while parked at the previous listed address. The van displaying government license plates on the front and rear bumpers of the vehicle contained assorted non-lethal field training items. While the driver was away from the vehicle, unknown person or persons broke the rear window of the van and removed several military style flak jackets ACU (Army Combat Uniform) digital camo design along with CamelBak drinking system and harnesses. Dy Abernathy along with Detectives Pitre and Strickland from the Armed Robbery and Burglary Unit are investigating this incident under file # 06-73050.
