Incident: Narcotics Arrest and Loitering

Incident Date: 9-7-2006

On 9-7-06, Deputies with the S.C.A.T. Team, Narcotics and Armed Robbery and Burglary Divisions conducted criminal patrols in the Gardere area. Deputies made the following arrests and seizures :

1. Joshua Moore - (Male 24) - Arrested for Possession of Marijuana.

2. Willie Glover III - (Male 23) - Cited for No Light on License Plate, Failure to Signal Turn and Failure to Secure Registration.

3. George Lewis - (Male 21 ) - Arrested for Loitering and Possession of Marijuana.

4. Pernell Lanaute - (Male 19) - Arrested for Loitering and Possession of Marijuana.

Deputies seized approx. 52.3 grams of suspected marijuana with a street value of $261.50.

Incident: Attempt 2nd Degree Murder and Convicted Felon in Poss. Firearm

Attempt 2nd Degree Murder and Convicted Felon in Possession of Firearm at 2113 Anne Marie. On 9-9-2006 at approximately 12:02am, Deputies responded to the prior listed address in reference to a victim being shot. Deputies were advised that several subjects were playing cards and drinking when the victim and the accused identified as James Anthony Johnson b/m, dob 9/7/1966, 5'11" inches tall approximately 165 pounds began play fighting. The victim struck Johnson at which time Johnson presented a handgun and fired a shot at the victim. The victim was struck by what appeared to be a single gunshot wound. The accused fled the area in a red 300 Nissan ZX. The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment of his wounds. Detective Stewart is investigating this incident under file # 06-60552. Incident: Homicide and Armed Robbery

Homicide and Armed Robbery at 6911 Siegen Lane location of Olive Garden Restaurant. On 9-8-2006 at approximately 11:45pm, two black male subjects in the rear parking lot of the Olive Garden restaurant approached a w/m and w/f. The b/m subjects were driving a white four-door vehicle. The subjects demanded money from the w/m and w/f, during the course of the robbery one of the subjects fired several shots at the victims. The subjects fled the parking lot heading east on Seigen Ln. The subjects were described as follows: The driver of the vehicle is described as a b/m with short hair, thin moustache, wearing a blue and white-stripped shirt. The passenger is described as a b/m, dark complexion in his early 20's with braided hair wearing a white t-shirt. The w/m died at a local hospital. The female was treated for her wounds at a local hospital. Detectives D. Green and A. Banta are investigating this incident under file # 06-60555. Incident: Attempted First Degree Murder

Detectives are investigating an attempted first degree murder that occurred in the 4400 block of Kilkenny Dr. At approximately 10:30pm two victims' were standing outside of a residence when a vehicle passed with the occupants shooting at them. Incident: Armed Robbery, Carjacking

Detectives are investigating an armed robbery and carjacking that occurred at 4400 Joor Rd., the location of Quick Stop. At approximately 9:30pm, the victim was in the parking lot of the Quick Stop when he was approached by two b/m subjects. Both subjects entered the victim's vehicle and ordered him to drive away. One of the two b/m's was armed with a handgun and is described as follows: black male, slim build, braided hair, gold caps on his teeth, wearing a white t-shirt and black shorts. The second subject is described as follows: black male, approximately 6'5" in height, slim build, wearing a white t-shirt and blue jeans. As the victim was driving in the area of Joor Rd. and Prescott Rd. he jumped from the vehicle and fled. The two suspects then drove away in the victim's vehicle. The vehicle was recovered abandoned a short time after the incident. Persons with information regarding this investigation are asked to call 389-5000.

Incident: Attempted Simple Robbery

Deputies are investigating an attempted simple robbery that occurred at 9989 Burbank Dr. At approximately 8:52pm the victim walked outside of her apartment and was met by an unknown b/m subject. The b/m forced the victim against the fence surrounding her apartment and demanded that she give him money. When the victim failed to respond, the suspect slammed her against the fence again. As this was occurring, a vehicle pulled into a nearby parking lot causing the suspect to flee. The suspect is described as follows: black male, 5'10" to 6' in height, dark complexion, slim build, close cut hair. The suspect was wearing a dark t-shirt and jean shorts with black tennis shoes. Incident: Accidental Shooting

Accidental Shooting at 1200 block of E. Azalea Park. On 9-5-2006 at approximately 7:12pm, Deputies responded to the 1200 block of E. Azalea Park in reference to a juvenile accidentally shooting himself. The 16-yoa male juvenile advised deputies that while attempting to unload a Rossi 38 caliber revolver, the gun accidentally went off. The juvenile was sitting outside the apt. complex in the parking lot when the incident occurred. The juvenile was transported to a local hospital for treatment of a minor wound. Deputies recovered the weapon used in the accident. The juvenile advised he found the weapon, no location was provided. No other injuries were reported. Dy. Daigle along with Detective Stewart investigated this incident under file # 06-59745.

Incident: Purse Snatching

Purse Snatching at 7760 Bluebonnet Blvd. location of Mipadres Mexican Grill. On 9-5-2006 at approximately 9:30pm, the victim and a friend were dining outside of the restaurant on the patio area. The victim's purse was lying on the back of the chair,when a w/m late 20's, medium build 5'11" inches tall wearing a brown baseball cap, brown shirt with blue jeans and a beard took the purse from the chair and fled the area. The w/m took approximately $ 40.00 dollars in cash, credit cards and keys to the victim's vehicle. Dy. Webb investigated the incident under file # 06-59780. Theft at 4346 Joor Rd. location of The Quick Stop. On 9-5-2006 at approximately 3:15pm, a delivery driver was making deliveries at the store. The driver exited his white panel van and entered the store. Upon the driver's return to the vehicle, two b/m subjects were observed taking a large quantity of cigarettes from the vehicle. The subjects were last seen heading in the direction of Prescott and Kerrit Street area. No description was available on the subjects. The subjects took approximately 59 cartoons of cigarettes with a value of $ 1,800.00 dollars. Cpl. Curtin and Lt. Blackwell conducted the investigation under file # 06-59681. Incident: Aggravated Assault with a Firearm/Ilegal use of a Weapon

Aggravated Assault with a firearm, Illegal use of a Weapon and Dist. the Peace by Fistic Encounter at 5151 Plank Rd. location of Sports Plus. On 9-1-2006 at approximately 8:00pm, Captain Williams was working an off-duty assignment at Piccadilly Cafeteria when several civilians notified the Captain of a fight where shots were fired. The Captain responded and learned three subjects were involved in a physical altercation. The subjects fought once again in the presence of the Captain. Hilton Hayes b/m 24 yoa was taken into custody and charged with ill. use of a weapon and agg. assault for firing a round from a SKS rifle into the ground to frighten the subjects involved in the fight. Responding deputies apprehended J'Colby Johnson b/m 19 yoa and William Lee b/m 18 yoa after they fled the area. Johnson and Lee were issued misdemeanor summons for dist. the peace by fistic encounter. Hayes was charged and booked into the parish prison. The incident was investigated by Sgt. Mohr and Cpl's Crawford and Harden under file # 06-58794.

Incident: Armed Robbery/Carjacking

Armed Robbery and Carjacking at 4346 Joor Rd. location of The Quick Stop. On 9-4-2006 at approximately 12:47pm, the victim was operating his business on the side of the Quick Stop selling tennis shoes. A b/m in his early 20's medium complexion, 6'0" tall thin build with short hair wearing a white shirt armed with a chrome semi-auto handgun ordered the victim to get on the ground. The victim complied. The robber took the victims white 1999 Chevrolet Blazer bearing La. License PGX549. The vehicle contained approximately $ 4,000.00 dollars worth of assorted name brand tennis shoes. The victim was not injured. The Blazer was last seen on Prescott heading toward Airline Hwy. Dy. Blackwood and Lt. Blackwell are investigating this incident under file # 06-59425. Incident: Armed Robbery

Armed Robbery at 3939 Victoria location of Victoria Trailer Park. On 9-4-2006 at approximately 5:32pm, the victim was at a vacant trailer located at lot #18 with an unknown w/f acquaintance. While inside the trailer, the victim was robbed at knifepoint and beaten by the w/f and three additional b/m subjects. The victim managed to escape and fled to the McDonalds on Airline Hwy. seeking help. The victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment of his injuries. The victims white Mazda MP3 van was taken during the robbery. No descriptions of the subjects or vehicle are available at this time.
