Incident: Armed Robbery
Detectives are investigating an armed robbery that occurred at 10445 Reiger Road, the location of Motel 6. At 12:00pm, the victim was standing outside his room when he was approached by two black male subjects. One of the two b/m's was armed with a chrome handgun and ordered the victim to give them his personal belongings. After this was done, the victim was ordered to enter his room. The two assailants followed the victim into the room and robbed four additional victims of their belongings. After completing the robbery, the assailants fled the area. They are described as follows: Suspect #1- black male dark complexion, approximately 6' tall, weighing approximately 220lbs, short hair, wearing a red shirt and black shorts. Suspect #2- black male, approximately 6' tall, weighing approximately 170lbs, short hair, wearing a white shirt and black shorts. Persons with information regarding this investigation are asked to call 389-5000.
Incident: Attempt First Degree Murder
Deputies are investigating an Attempt First Degree Murder and Attempt Armed Robbery that occurred in the 4300 block of Southpark. The victim was walking in the area at approximately 2:45am. He was confronted by a b/m whom he described as being approximately 18 to 20 years of age, wearing a white t-shirt and blue jeans. The b/m was armed with a handgun and demanded the victims' money. As this was occurring, the victim was stabbed by an unknown subject that had walked up behind him. The injuries sustained by the victim were treated at a local hospital and are non life threatening. Incident: Attempt Second Degree Murder
Deputies are investigating an Attempt Second Degree Murder that occurred on August 18, 2006 at approximately 4:45pm in the 8200 block of Stern Ave. Deputies responded to the area as the result of several gunshots being reported. Upon arrival, deputies were informed by the victim that he had been involved in a fistic encounter with David Lee White, b/m, 31yoa. After the fight, the accused left the area for a short time. Upon his return, the accused produced a handgun and fired two shots at the victim. The accused fled the area before the arrival of investigating deputies. An arrest warrant has been issued for the arrest of David Lee White for the charges of Attempt Second Degree Murder, Illegal Use of a Weapon and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon. Persons with information regarding the whereabouts of Mr. White are asked to call 389-5000.
Incident: Shooting
On 8-16-2006 at approximately 5:00 pm, Deputies responded to the area of 1947 Mariner in reference to shots being fired. Deputies encountered two gunshot victims at the prior mentioned location. A b/f 31 years of age and a b/m 24 years of age each suffering from a gunshot wound were transported to local hospitals for treatment of their wounds. The wounds were non-life threatening. The incident appears to have stemmed from a verbal argument between the male victim and two b/m subjects out near the victims garbage bin. One of the b/m's pulled a black in color handgun and fired several shots in the direction of the victim and the apartment building. The rounds struck the building and the victims. The subjects firing the shots are described as follows: Black male wearing a black and white camo shirt with black shorts and a black baseball cap. The second b/m was wearing a light colored striped shirt and black dreadlocks with gold twist. Incident: Theft of a motor vehicle, Illegal possession of stolen things and Theft by fraud
On Thursday, March 16, 2006 a 1997 Ford Taurus, La. Lic. #KUC919 was stolen from 10816 Weiner Creek Dr. located in Baton Rouge La. Incident was handled by the East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office under file# 06-16884. The theft was assigned to Cpl. Lann Wolf from the Auto Theft Division. Through Investigation, a Warrant was issued for the arrest of Robert David Keith (b/m, dob 7-16-70) who resides in Texas, in reference to Felony Theft. It was also learned that the suspect was being detained at the Pulaski County Detention Center located in Arkansas for an unrelated crime, therefore a hold was placed on him.
On Monday August 14, 2006, it was learned through investigation that Robert Keith had sold a 1997 Honda Civic, which was also a stolen vehicle, to a subject residing at 1715 74th Ave. located in Baton Rouge. The vehicle that was sold, had been reported as a stolen vehicle on 11-14-05, through the Clayton County Police Department located in Jonesbouro Georgia, and had been sold for a sum of $4000.00. The vehicle was located and recovered on August 15,2006 and on the following date another warrant was issued under File# 06-54280, for the arrest of Robert Keith for Illegal Possession of Stolen Things and Theft by Fraud.
Incident: Narcotics Arrests and Capture of DOC Escapee
During a narcotics investigation on Friday, August 11, 2006, learned that a Department of Corrections inmate that had escaped from West Baton Rouge Parish Prison in December of 2005 was occupying a residence located at 9722 Avenue C. The escapee was identified as Devon Foster (B/M dob 04/06/1978). The EBRSO Narcotics Division along with the EBRSO SWAT team executed a search warrant at this residence and captured Foster. A search of the residence also yielded crack cocaine, ecstacy, marijuana and drug paraphernalia. The execution of the search warrant resulted in the arrest of two other subjects at the residence. The two other subjects were identified as Katrina Carr (B/F dob 8/20/1972) and Edward Lavy (B/M dob 12/8/1954). Both subjects were booked into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison along with Foster.
Incident: Burglary
Burglary at 2001 O'Neal Ln. location of Walgreens Pharmacy. On 8-14-2006 at approximately 3:45 am Deputies responded to an alarm at the prior listed business. Deputies observed the bottom portion of the glass door had been shattered upon arrival. An unknown amount of cigarettes were taken. Deputies are interested in speaking with anyone that may have observed a b/m driving a grey 80's model Cadillac with square headlights and open trunk leaving from behind the Walgreens with the headlights turned off. The driver of the vehicle parked at the Shamrock service station and walked over to the Waffle House. The b/m was described as wearing a black stocking on his head with plats in his hair, a long black t-shirt, brown dickie style pants with black tennis shoes, approx. 180 to 185 pounds. Anyone with information concerning this incident or the identity of the person leaving the Walgreens in the grey Cadillac on this date are urged to contact the East Baton Rouge Sheriffs Office at 225-389-5000.
Incident: Burglary
Burglary at 10375 Coursey Blvd. location of Fresh Pickens. On 8-14-2006 at approximately 2:05 am, Deputies responded to an alarm at the prior listed business. Responding deputies observed the window on the south side of the business had been damaged. The subject entering the business is described as a w/m, approximately 30 years of age 5'9" to 6'0" inches tall, slim build, brown hair wearing a red multi-colored plaid shirt, blue jeans or dark colored pants with white tennis shoes. No items were taken. Dy. Daigle is investigating incident under file # 06-53941.
