Incident: 2nd. Degree Battery and 2cts. Simple Battery

2nd. Degree Battery and 2cts. Simple Battery at 6725 Buttonwood. On 7-29-2006 at approximately 8:10 am to 8:40 am, Deputies responded to a domestic disturbance at the prior listed location. Deputy N. Clark discovered the victim had been severely beaten by a subject known to the victim as Tyrone Brown, b/m, 47 years of age. The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment of their wounds. Dy's learned that the victim used a knife to defend themselves from the assault. Two friends of the victim were also battered by Brown. Dy's located Brown, placing him under arrest. Brown was transported to a local hospital for treatment from the knife wound that he received. Both subjects are listed in stable condition. Brown shall be booked into the parish prison upon his release from the hospital.

Illegal Use of a Weapon and Damage to Property in the 6000 block of Flag St. On 7-29-2006 at approximately 2:17 am, Deputies received numerous calls of shots being fired on Flag St. Deputies were advised that an unidentified b/m was chasing another b/m while firing a gun at him. No one was observed in the area upon Deputies arrival. During the course of Dy. Blackwoods investigation, the Dy. learned that stray bullets hit three residences. The items struck at the residences included a mailbox, front window, chair, car and the siding on two of the homes. No injuries were reported. Attempt Armed Robbery and Aggravated Assault in the 10000 block of Alco. On 7-29-2006 at approximately 2:20 am, the victims were traveling on Alco toward Southpark when an unidentified b/m approached the victims in an attempt to rob them. The b/m, wearing a red shirt and black shorts fired several shots at the victims. The victims exited their vehicle in the 4000 block of Southpark and fled on foot to a nearby residence. No injuries were reported. A bullet struck the hatchback area and cracked the back glass. Dy. R. Shumate and Sgt. T. Morris investigating incident under file # 06-49965. Aggravated Battery and Armed Robbery at 8751 Coy. On 7-28-2006 at approximately 10:00 pm, the victim was returning to their residence from a trip to the store, when two b/m subjects approached them. The b/m's took the victims black wallet containing approximately $ 75.00 dollars in cash. During the course of the robbery, the victim received a cut to the arm. The b/m's were last seen running toward GSRI. The victim was treated at a local hospital and released. The first b/m is described as 6'1" inches tall, thin build, light complexion, long braids wearing a red t-shirt. This is also the individual armed with the knife. The second subject is described as 5'4" inches tall, thin build, dark complexion, short haircut, wearing a black t-shirt. Dy. J. Pickering investigating incident under file # 06-49960. Armed Robbery in the 9000 block of El Scott. On 7-27-2006 between the hours of 11:30 pm and 12:30 am, several subjects were shooting dice at a residence. During the course of the game, one of the players pulled a dark colored handgun and robbed the remaining players of their money. The robber was identified as Montral Domino b/m, dob 11/15/85. Domino fled the scene with approximately $ 840.00 in cash that was taken from the players. Cpl. N. Clark and Sgt. M. Davis investigating incident under file # 06-49783. Incident: Attempted First-Degree Murder, Armed Robbery, Aggravated Criminal Damage to Prop

On July 28, 2006 at 6:50am, Ernest Jackson, Jr., Black / Male, date of birth 07/31/1988 of 9390 Tanglewood was booked into Parish Prison for Attempted First-Degree Murder, Armed Robbery, Aggravated Criminal Damage to Property and Aggravated Assault with a Firearm.

The victim in this case stopped to help a stranded female motorist in the 7200Blk of Joor Road at approximately 11:15pm. That's when Ernest Jackson appeared from the other side of the vehicle and pointed a gun at the victim, instructing him to drive Jackson to an undetermined location. The victim attempted to flee the scene in his vehicle when Jackson shot at the victim hitting the vehicle several times.

Jackson then fled the scene and was stopping near the intersection of Joor and Mickens Road. Ernest Jackson leaned out of the window of his vehicle pointed a gun at a second victim and shot two rounds at the victim hitting the vehicle. Through investigation and information from the victims, Cpl. Thornton was able to locate Jackson and he was subsequently arrested.

On July 26, 2006, East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office Armed Robbery and Burglary Detectives Lt. David Blackwell, Sgt. Billy Welborn, Cpl. Brent Travis, Cpl. Steven Hill, Cpl. Jonathan Alfred, Det. Steven Gallo along with Central Uniform Patrol Deputies Sgt. B. Simmons and Cpl. B. Thorton arrested Elijah Lott (b/m, dob:7/31/1979 of 5412 Clark St. Baton Rouge La.), in reference to an Affidavit Warrant prepared by Cpl. Kent Landacre for Armed Robbery and Aggravated Kidnapping. The offenses occurred on Thursday July 12, 2006 under EBRSO file # 06-46169. Deputies also arrested Shekita Jacobs (b/f, dob:9/2/86 of 2869 Yazoo St. Baton Rouge La), for an outstanding Bench Warrant for Issuing Worthless Checks in the amount of $429.00. Both Lott and Jacobs were booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison.

On Wednesday, July 26, 2006, EBRSO Narcotics Division along with EBRSO SWAT executed a duly authorized search warrant in the 2900 block of Bogan Walk Street. Upon execution of the warrant, SWAT secured (4) four subjects at the residence one of which was the accused, Christopher Sterling (B/M, dob- 01/03/1978). A search of the residence yielded approximately an ounce of cocaine, fourteen 40mg dosage units of Oxycontin, three bottles of liquid codeine, a small amount of marijuana, and $3,018.00 of drug proceeds. Sterling was booked into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison for PWITD SCH II cocaine, PWITD SCH II codeine, PWITD SCH II Oxycontin, and Simple poss. Marijuana.

On Tuesday, July 25, 2006, the East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office concluded an investigation relative to the possession and sale of Lortab pills within East Baton Rouge Parish. The arrest of Warren Scott (B/M, dob-08/18/1981) occurred in the 10000 block of Reiger Road. The investigation resulted in the seizure of 100 dosage units of Lortab and $3500.00 of drug proceeds. The street value of the listed controlled dangerous substance is approximately $600.00. Scott was charged with possession with intent to distribute a schedule III controlled dangerous substance and three counts of contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile.

Deputy,s received a call at 2:12am in reference to subjects breaking into the Entergy lot at 9583 Pecue. The suspects were then observed loading items into the bed of a pickup then leave the property, north on Pecue. The described vehicle was stopped by Sgt. Konopka on Pecue at Airline with aluminum Anchor Rods in the bed. The suspects were taken into custody without incident. It was discovered that the suspects had cut the padlock on the front gate in order to enter the lot. The suspects then removed the aluminum rods from wood crates within the fenced lot and it was later determined the value of the stolen items were valued between eight and ten thousand dollars. The property was recovered and released to its owner. The suspects were identified as Robert Dunn B/M 08-13-66, Willie Dunn Jr. B/M 11-29-68, and Cleo Banks B/M 04-13-66. Each suspect was booked with Simple Burglary and Felony Theft.

On this date 07/26/06, at approximately 01:47am, Dy. M. Abernathy responded to a vehicle fire, where the charred vehicle may have been stolen. This incident occurred, in the 1500 block of Rafe Mayer Rd. 06-49158

Lt. C. Pollar responded at approximately 01:54am to 12727 Leisure Rd. to the same complaint involving a different vehicle. 06-49160

Baton Rouge Fire investigator M. Watkins responded to both scenes, that were within a mile of each other, where arson was confirmed.

On 7-25-06, Deputies with the S.C.A.T. Division conducted a narcotics investigation at the residence located at 364 Shadydale Dr. During the investigation, Deputies made the following arrest and seizure :

1. Spencer Marino - (Male 19) - Arrested for Cultivation/Manufacturing of Marijuana and Possession of Marijuana.

Deputies seized suspected marijuana plants with a street value of $10,000.00 .

Incident: Purse Snatching and Felony Theft

Purse Snatching and Felony Theft at 15421 Jefferson Hwy. Location of Cracker Barrel Store. On 7-25-2006 at approximately 8:50 pm, the victim exited the cracker barrel store and preceded to their vehicle, as the victim reached their vehicle a b/m subject walked up behind them and took their wallet. The b/m fled the area on foot. During the course of Dy. J. Washington's investigation, Dy. Washington learned the identity of the b/m. The b/m was identified as Eugene Jones, b/m, 21 years of age. Dy. Washington later arrested and booked Jones into the parish prison for the prior listed charges.

Illegal Use of Weapon or other Dangerous Device and Aggravated Criminal Damage to Property at 5461 Essen Lane location of Cobblestone Apts. On 7-25-2006 at approximately 10:10 pm, Charles Gill Jr. w/m, 22 years of age proceeded to the prior mentioned location and fired approximately 11 rounds from a .40 caliber glock pistol into the door of the apt. No one was present at the time of the incident. The incident stemmed from an argument between Gill and his roommate. No injuries were reported. Gill was arrested and transported to the parish prison where he was booked on the prior listed charges.

Kleinpeter Deputies responded to an alarm at 10444 Airline Hwy the location of Mercy Mary Gift Shop. Upon arrival Deputy's observed the side door glass shattered and a subject running from the business. After a short foot chase Deputy's apprehended a Juan Martinez (H/M, 06/20/1974) and through further investigation determined that Martinez had in fact committed the Burglary.

Deputies investigating an Armed Robbery, which occurred in the 6700 blk of Siegen Lane the parking lot of I HOP. The victim drove into the parking lot to ask for directions and approached 3 black males. The males are described as,

· One black male tall, slim, medium light complexion, and gold on both K-9 teeth

· Two black males short medium dark complexion

The victim ask the subjects for directions when all three produced weapons a Stainless steel semi automatic, a Black revolver, and an unknown type hand gun.

The tall b/m asked for the victim's wallet and his cellular phone. The victim gave the items to the b/m and then fled the scene in his vehicle. The victim drove to the Exxon on the Run located at Airline and Coursey and called 911. The victim stated that the suspects were possibly in an older model 4-door vehicle with blue sides and a white trunk. Deputies seized approx. 62.1 grams of suspected marijuana with a street value of $310.50.

The b/m was armed with a dark colored semi-auto handgun. The b/m fled the area in an unknown vehicle. On 7-20-06, Deputies with the SCAT TEAM conducted criminal patrols in the Glen Oaks area. Deputies made the following arrests and seizures:

1. Johnny Sago - (Male 44) - Arrested for Possession of Marijuana.

2. Brian Williams - (Male 24) - Arrested for Possession of Marijuana and Failure to Signal Turn.

3. Ervin Nicholas - (Male 36) - Cited for Expired Inspection Sticker.

4. Martha Edmonds - (Female 45) - Arrested for Distribution of Schedule II and Schedule IV, P.W.I.T.D. Schedule II and IV and Possession of Schedule II and IV.

5. Ryan Tumey - (Male 28) - Cited for No Driver's License on Person and No Seatbelt.

Deputies seized approx. 12.0 grams of suspected marijuana with a street value of $60.00. Deputies also seized 312 Lorcet pills with a street value of $6240.00, 9 Percocet pills with a street value of $180.00, 23 Vicoden pills with a street value of $460.00, 27 Xanax pills with a street value of $540.00, 21.5 Xanabar pills with a street value of $430.00 and 18 Lortab pills with a street value of $360.00.
