Community Service and Neighborhood Watch

The East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office participates in numerous ways to assist the citizens of East Baton Rouge Parish. Programs are put on at various public events, such as health fairs, children's workshops, and festivals which help to teach our youth to respect Law Enforcement Officials and to know the difference between right and wrong. Through the use of display materials, and other items which children identify with, the children are encouraged to become law-abiding adults. The Community Service Division also coordinates the Sheriff's Office safety seminars.

The East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office also sponsors Neighborhood Watch programs within the parish. If you would like more information on the program, or if you are interested in starting a program in your area, please contact the Sheriff's Office.

TRIAD/S.A.L.T.

Seniors And Law Enforcement Together

What is TRIAD?

A TRIAD is an agreement between the American Assosication of Retired Persons (AARP), the International Associations of Chiefs of Police (IACP) and the National Sheriff's Association (NSA). The partnership enables the three above agencies to work together to reduce criminal victimization of seniors and to enhance law enforcement services to older citizens.

What is S.A.L.T?

A S.A.L.T. Council is TRIAD on the community level. A S.A.L.T. Council is a group composed of seniors, local law enforcement agencies and senior organizations. The S.A.L.T. Council determines the needs of the community's senior population and creates activities to address these needs.
