Former EBRSO Prison Employee Arrested for Solicitation

A former employee with the East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office was arrested today for Solicitation of Prostitution.

Jordan Zachary, 20, was employed with the Sheriff's Office for approximately 7 months working security at the parish prison.

According to reports, the victim met Zachary through friends approximately 8 months ago. She stated a month ago conversations became sexual in nature. She notified the Sheriff’s Office via Facebook on March 1, 2015 that the day before he sent her a Facebook Message and referenced her making extra money for sexual favors. The information was immediately turned over to detectives to investigate.

Detectives were able to contact the victim and received the aforementioned information. Detectives then contacted Zachary, and he invoked his right to counsel. He was terminated from the office, and he will be booked into parish prison on the above listed charges.

“It is very disheartening when we have to deal with something like this in house,” Sheriff Sid Gautreaux said. “However, we take any complaint very seriously, and we acted quickly to thoroughly investigate. We will not tolerate anything of this nature.”
