EBRSO Financial Crimes Division Seeking Woman Using Counterfeit Currency

On August 27, 2014 the East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office “Financial Crimes” Division received a “Counterfeit Currency” complaint.

The complainant, an employee of the Chicken Shack restaurant located at 413 N. Acadian Thruway Baton Rouge, LA 70806, reported that on August 25, 2014 at approximately 1955 hours an unknown black female wearing what appears to be a black shirt and dark pants used a counterfeit $100.00 bill to make a food purchase totaling $19.21.  After making the purchase the unknown female received her food order and $80.79 change.  The unknown female then left the restaurant in what appeared to be a silver BMV.  The complainant provided the counterfeit bill and video surveillance of the unknown female making the purchase.

Detectives reviewed the counterfeit bill and it lacks all the security features (color shifting ink, hologram, security strip) that would be present on a genuine bill.  On a closer examination of the bill it appears to be a washed/bleached $1.00 bill.

Detectives were able to obtain four still photographs from video surveillance that the complainant provided.  The East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office is requesting assistance from the public identifying the individual that used the counterfeit $100.00 bill at the Chicken Shack restaurant on August 25, 2014.
