EBRSO Arrests Fifth Grader With Unloaded Gun

An EBRSO Deputy responded to a call today at approximately 3:30 p.m. to Capital Elementary at 4141 Gus Young Ave. in reference to a student with a gun. According to reports an anonymous student notified a school administrator that a classmate had a gun. The .45 caliber weapon was found in the fifth-grade student’s booksack. It was unloaded and did not have a clip.

The 10-year-old male student will be charged with Illegal Possession of a Firearm on a School Campus.

The gun was listed as stolen, and the student stated he found it at home. EBRSO is not aware of any threats made at the school. This incident is still under investigation.
